Games are coming thick and fast now and the further we advance in this years FA Cup, the more congested that will become. I don't have an issue at all with this, as its been a while since we had such a problem but we have to plan things accordingly. Does Wickham or Ji get a run out at Blackburn? Will Meyler and Elmo get a shout and will Kyriagos feature during this run in? I am old school in my thoughts on this and would always keep the same team week in week out, until injury, suspension or loss of form comes into the equation. However, modern thinking dictates that squads are rotated and players rested. Will Mon be old school or modern in his approach?
I don't think MON is into rotation either mate. When asked yesterday if he would have done the same as Moyes at Liverpool he said no. He would have played his strongest team in each game.
Well Larsson looks like he's blowing out of his arse lately....maybe he could do with a breather as he does put a lot into it... But if it means him having a rest and Elmo coming in...............sorry Seb...your playing....plus even in an off-game he is the best for free-kicks and corners etc.... As for the rest of them...we're pretty limited, is it time for Wickham or Ji at this vital stage? Meyler is a decent shout, but then so is Vaughan...
Gardner in recent weeks has been brilliant However yesterday he was woeful imo Would let colback + vaughan play next game Meyler to play against joey barton, sort the f*cker out
Vaughan must come in whilst Sess is out. He has a little bit of creativity. Would give Connor at least half a game against either Blackburn or QPR as I think both are winnable leaving Bendy or FC on the bench. Likewise if things are going well give Ji at least half a game. Would also, if fit, put Ricco in midfield and rest Gardner or Larsson. Lack of pace in midfield yesterday. Little bit of rotation whilst still keeping a strong team AND a relatively strong bench.
oh team needs a rest i think so we need to swap players and try to help us the greek is injured by the way
TBH there are not that many in the squad that are good enough to rotate. Frankie is one, Campbell still needs games and him and Bendtner were not bad yesterday, but they were not that good either. The more the back four and keeper play together the better they are. Meyler is also worth bringing in, but IMHO neither Wickham or Ji have made the grade YET, but could be given game time. I hear they are getting extra special training..I gues we know why!
Mig bardo..turner..oshea..bridge gardner..colback campbell..vaughan..mclean wickham For Blackburn game
We need to put our best team out when we can so no rotation, we are still not mathematically safe so we have to put everything into the PL games as well as the cup games. Anyone know why Moyes isn't up before the FA for dropping half his team against Liverpool? seem to remember Mick McCarthy and Ian Holloway got done for similar.
talcnturnip I think they made a new rule at the start of the season allowing managers to field whatever team they wanted? Not positive but I think that might be why Moyes got away with it.
I would definately rotate - in fact i would put all of the players in a giant tombola = rotate it and when they come out all dizzy and ask who the are tell them they are Barcelona - jobs a good un
I would bring in Kilgannon, Meyler, Colback again Elmo and Ji for tuesdays game. Rest Bendtner, Mclean, Larsson.
If it aint broke don't tinker, there a first teamers and squad players, with MON just in a short time I reckon if he is happy to field a team to play within a planned tactic then leave him to it. My interest is in Guppy who was a left winger as I recall, but his main strength was cutting in from the touchline and letting fly with his right foot. He was also a canny crosser as well, so guidance for McLean or Richardson?
Always thought it was a stupid rule mate the big teams have done it for years yet Holloway and McCarthy do it and they get hit with fines. Fine by me still think if MON had done that the other Sunday he would be crucified.
