Don't give a flying one for Everton these days, just hoping we manage to beat them when we go down there on the 13th May.

If it hasn't been changed by then of course.

I want Everton to win, so come on Everton, though I would much rather we finished in a European position.

With these two teams looming in our rear mirrors I'd say that a draw is the best outcome.

Well it didn't go as we all would have liked but on the flipside, its another game for both teams to negotiate in the run in, with both team chasing our tails from a distance. Plus you'd have to think if Everton dominate the game again in the return, luck will go their way. If not a trip to Wembley and Liverpool await, and you'd fancy them to do the business. All these games coming thick and fast for the 3 teams is no bad thing for ourselves.

And it goes without saying its a nice aside to see the Mackems fall flat on their face! They always wished likewise on us for our cup runs all them years ago.

To be fair on the OP I would have been wanting the mags to get beat if they had a chance of getting to Wembley...It must be a bit of a pisser for Newcastle fans to be having their best league season for a good few years, but still feeling gutted at the very thought that Sunderland might win a trophy...

Keep dreaming. We'll remain realistic in our push for Europe.

I think Sunderland's chances of winning the Cup ar remote.

They do have about a 1/4 chance of making it to the final. There's a slightly less than 50% chance that either they or Everton will make the final. It would be very annoying if they did, as it would mean we would have to finish 5th to secure a Europa League place, whereas generally 6th if sufficient, and sometimes 7th.

Which means we have to hold our noses and hope that Liverpool win the semi-finals.

I know who my money would be on to make Europe given the respective avenues to get there
