    Sporting Regs Rule 18.1 states:

"The stewards may inflict the penalties specifically set out in these Sporting Regulations in addition to or instead of any other penalties available to them under the Code."

So, in the event of three reprimands resulting in a totally meaningless 10-place grid drop from last to "last -10" then 18.1 means they might be able to impose another meaningful penalty instead?
    It's one interpretation!

Whilst Grosjean's performance was unquestionably amazing, lets not get too carried away. Remember last year when Renault scored two podiums in the opening two races but were hopeless for the rest of the year. It will be interesting to see if this level of performance can be maintained.

I thought the beginning to BBC's highlights was pointless. Several minutes of DC and Jake Humphrey chucking pieces of paper around with random words on them whilst highlights from last year were shown. Complete waste of time and paper (and therefore money). I wanted to see highlights of Oz Qualifying not F1 2011... Still I think Ben Edwards and DC seem to make a good commentary team.

Hi guys, looking forward to the race tomorrow, was in two minds whether to take time out from F1 owing to the coverage going to Sky but didn't find waiting for the highlights too painful today. Very disappointed in Ferrari, but will try and support King Schumi tomorrow in his first podium since the return bid

I thought it was good, as far as Bob Dylan parodies go. It was relaxed and self-confident and, having gritted my teeth through the live Sky presentation (and not therefore waited in anticipation for qualifying, except to see it in HD), it felt a lot more natural and involving. It didn't go on too long and the lyrics were amusing. It gave the audience a reminder of where we're up to in the ongoing inter-team battles in an interesting way and didn't take too long telling us. It was fine.

Ben Edwards was good but (like David Croft and James Allen) he suffers from what all lead commentators have following Murray Walker. They're lead commentators, not Murray Walker. I'm sure he and Coulthard will be a match for Croft and Brundle but Brundle and Coulthard were the best post-Walker pairing in my opinion.

I agree with Mr Lickorish regarding the intro, thought it was a bit naff really and they could have actually done a feature in the time wasted on that, guess they felt it was a good way to get viewers up to date though. Also a waste of paper!

Hi Nick. Good to see you again. You don't have to wait, unless you want to watch in HD.

I suppose it could've been worse. Just I would personally rather that they got straight into the on-track action and save that sort of thing for the live races where they can have a much longer build-up.

Apart from the intro I thought the highlights were well put together, wasn't keen on the Scottish chap in the pits as I couldn't make out what he was saying, no offence intended.

I watched the BBC coverage, I feel sorry for Jake and DC for being there. It is absolutely terrible. That Gary guy is completely ******ed and Ben Edwards couldnt commentate any better than Legard, i think i'd prefer the latter. I'm glad Sky took over, i have better internet out of them too.

Oh, I posted about this in the BBC win thread. I thought it was a very clever little middle finger up to Sky, as in you have your multicoloured, moneybags tech overload and we'll have a cheap little black and white film with hand-written pieces of paper. It was so cheap and amateurish, it made me laugh.

I'm hoping there's a turn one collision at the start tomorrow - we didn't get enough of it in 2011.

If Grosjean tries to overtake or defend like he did in GP2, he'll take someone out of the race. Schumacher is aggressive as well so I'd like to see what happens if he goes wheel-to-wheel with Grosjean.

You've also got Ricciardo and Vergne who are being told by their team not to fear crashes. Red Bull want them to be as good as Vettel or **** off, so they don't have much to lose by being too aggressive at the start.

Just because of this I reckon we won't have any crashes and only the 1 retirement; namely a gearbox issue for Petrov on lap 31. <laugh>

Tommorow we are going to see just how good Vettel's race craft is. He may have pulled off an odd overtake here and there but I'm really intetested to see how he competes in a pack. Not only this but if he doesn't streak clear of Rosberg he's in trouble.

    Gary Anderson is Irish.

However, he did seem a bit awkward but I imagine that's largely down to be being thrust into a new role on TV. Anyone after Ted Kravitz was always likely to seem 2nd rate. Give him some time to settle in I reckon....

What time does the race start? I am really confused, on the F1 website it says 6, on Skysports it says 7 but during quali it was saying 6, and on BBC is says 6. Also on the OP it says 7.
