Penalties aren't like being handed lollies. You have to earn them by threatening the opponents goal and then you have to score them.

I was so pissed off with 13 minutes to go I went to waitrose & turned off my phone. When I turned it back on I had 2 BBMs, 3 text messages and a voicemail. I didn't check any of them. I got in the car put on Solent and then went f**king mental!!!! Waitrose car park has never seen such a lunatic cheering and singing the Rickie Lambert song! (I live in Bournemouth!).

Please Saints, don't do that again as I can't afford £62 in shopping that I didn't need every time we're losing....

    COYR!

Sir, Lord, Duke Lambert I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when he accused sharp of going down easy and holding his face he didn't look at the evidence before saying so and now he has done the same thing with the penalties. southampton have only had 2 more than west ham <laugh>

Yes. It would seem that he doesn't agree with penalties being awarded for tripping players up, or deliberately handballing. Not our fault if Millwall lose their heads.

They remarked on Sky about how confident Saints players are in Lambert's penalties, because they were high fiving as soon as the first one was awarded.

Shown on Skysports and both looked nailed on decisions, the second was definitely a Millwall player punching the ball, goodness knows why, a bit like the JPT Final one. We could have had a couple earlier, especially a shirt tug on Lambo.

I watched the highlights on Final Score, and though they don't show replays, the opinion there was the first pen was highly controversial - defender took a tumble, and just Rickie fell over him when he was going over anyway. Second one seemed no doubt, and Claridge was questioning what the Milwall player was doing handling like that. However, need to see again with replays on TFS.

So 6 points off Leeds and Millwall...makes up for games where we've played well and not got anything. We got these points because of sheer team spirit and perseverence.

so clear this up guys. poster above slates Merson for saying Lallana set up the first when it was Schneiderlin.

Watching the goals looks like Lallana and the BBC commentator said it was Lallana, came from Lallana's position.

Merson is a fool and shouldn't be a commentator but is he right or wrong on this?

On my way home now, what a result. Our defence was ****e today, but we still won so I don't give a ****. Did they handle for the second penalty?, couldn't see it myself.

Sharp looks like he is starting to adapt to our style of play and looked well up for it. COYR <ok>

Guly was ok, but I'll forgive him as he actually defended well.

I'd suggest all teams do that anyway. Especially with five minutes on the clock. Now if they were running around with their shirts off and knee-sliding over to the away end, that would be a different story!

Ive just read through from about page 8 on this thread - OMG we have some serious Negheads on this forum who give up and throw their dummies out the pram at the slightest down turn. Well, get a grip of the side of your prams guys, because there are plenty more downs to go with the ups to come. Stop whinging and take a bad result when it happens, on the chin and start supporting and stop slagging.

That's Merson and the BBC chap wrong then. Will have to watch the highlights now cos even I thought it was Lallana. Could well be wrong though. I assumed because of the player breaking from the left and turning his man rather than actually reading the shirt or looking carefully..........

    .............not that it matters ;)

This is form the normally inaccurate BBC site so I guess it could be true. lol :
15:34 Morgan Schneiderlin provided the assist for the goal.
