Not the greatest second half, but we got what most of us wanted. Back to the SoL and I think with our crowd at max volume will turn the tide
Anyone know when the replay is? Workin today so cudnt go down but back at our place think we'll have enough to make it to wembley!
I thought Bendtner looked very lazy today, he gave the ball away a lot and did not look to interested. Bridge did ok but personally I think Richardson is still a better option even though its not his natural position. I hope Bridge improves because he obviously has the talent. For me the heros were Migg, Colback and Bardo the 3 of them were brilliant today. I need to find out when the re-play is because I don't want to miss it.
Very good first half. Better side, pressed, passed, got at them. Very poor in the second. Larsson, Campbell, Colback not in the game. Passing again was negative and 4 out of every 5 was a simple give away to Everton to put the pressure on ourselves. Great save by Mig at the end and we're still in it so cup half full for me.
bendtner was quality first half he was back tracking constantly, even on our 18 yard box at some points, probly not so great second half because he was tired, he has been out for a while through injury now so that explains that...
Lack of pace in midfield the problem. Although all good players Gardner, Larsson & Colback not blessed with pace. With Sess or even Ricco in there we have a lot more attacking options. Think Vaughan should be in for the next game. seems to have more time on the ball and is more creative.
Tuesday 27th March @ 7:45 mate, tickets on sale Monday (i think) (about tickets) We missed Catts in midfield today, they got through too easily which exposed the defense. Think Sess will make the difference up front as well but i suspect MON will drop Campbell to make way for him, would rather see Bendtner dropped personally. Colback was brilliant, as was Bardinio, what a screamer eh? Mig oustanding but had to be, stepped up to the plate today. Some brilliant set peice deliveries by Larsson which we didn't capitalise on, maybe next time, Gardner started well as did Larsson but ran out of steam second half and McClean tortured them first half but his supply dried up second half. My only concern for the replay is that we have 3 games in the next ten days.
DAVID MOYES was fuming last night after referee Andre Marriner failed to award TWO blatant penalties to Everton. The official ignored calls when Royston Drenthe was cynically sent sprawling by Sunderland's Craig Gardner. Moyes then looked on in disbelief as Marriner failed to spot a John O'Shea handball. Such was his anger, Moyes could not trust himself to talk to the Press after the match for fear of landing himself in hot water with the FA. Instead — after Tim Cahill cancelled out Phil Bardsley's opener for Sunderland — Moyes sent out assistant Steve Round. Round said: "On another day, maybe we'd get a penalty or two, we are disappointed to have only drawn. "There's one penalty for definite, on Drenthe, it seems very strange why that wasn't given. "The second one, handball by O'Shea, we think it's a penalty. They would say it isn't. "We had dominance of possession and enough chances but their keeper made a wonderful double save." Captain Phil Neville said: "We're disappointed to have given Sunderland the advantage now — but this was a great tie to play in. "We didn't start the game well but we came into it at the end. "Maybe the occasion got to us a little bit early on and we didn't make the most of our chances."
Have to admit the first incident looked like a penalty to me but it wouldn't have mattered because Mig would've saved it. I am sure, for the second incident, if it had been an Everton player involved Moyes would be saying it definitely wasn't a penalty and the ref made a good decision.
