The fact you even think that those average players are great shows what you're used to. Defoe is a good goalscorer but he's not great and never will be. The only thing you've got that is better than us is a left winger as good as any in the world, a midfield genius who has said point blank he wants to leave and strikers with instinct (though they're nothing special). We have a better keeper, a better back four and a better central midfield. The only team that have really out played us was yourselves away and we made some hideous mistakes tactically in that game that we've not made since. 2 Red cards didn't help either.
Gerrard,Lucas,Charlie Adam and Jay Spearing vs Luka Modric,Scott Parker,Sandro,Huddlestone and Livermoore. That is all the players that have played in central midfield this season for Liverpool and Spurs. For me as a neutral, Spurs have a far better central midfield. Adam and Spearing are utter rubbish. Gerrard can still do something on his day but those days have become less and less. The best midfield CM combo out of that lot is Modric with Parker holding.

They clearly don't. Gerrard and Lucas is a much better partnership than Modric and Parker. Adam is ****e like and Spearing is no more than a worker. A big name you missed out who has played in CM and looked much better there than on the right and who will mark my words be a star of the future is Jordan Henderson.
Missed out because he is so hopeless. What is Henderson? He does something of everything very badly and is not excellent at anything. Gerrard is not a better central midfielder then Modric. In fact, Gerrard will not be able to play in a midfield two like Modric can. Not enough intelligence. Parker is also a better holding player then Lucas. Although that contest is more close.
Yeah and we all know that being above a team in March is when they hand out the trophies ... you twat. Also Arsenal actually won the league in the last 50 years like most teams that arn't Spurs. Gerrard can't play in centre midfield? Are you mad lad? Not enough intelligence? Please. He's been the most complete central midfield in this country for the last decade. The last two players that even came close to him (and in their time were better it must be said) were Keane and Vieira. Parker might be a better midfield dog of war than Lucas but a better holding player? Well that again shows how little people on here seem to know about our players. Lucas is the best holding player in the prem bar none. He covers our whole back four with ease and he's the only player I've seen this season to actually stop Silva (all but one time when he got away and City scored). Parker has a great attitude, he's a good player to have but he's not at, never has been at and never will be at Lucas' level. Parker tried to step up and failed and found his level at West Ham. He had some good games but overall he was never up to task. Lucas after a very poor start is now an indispensable member of a top side and also every Brazilian national coach has him as their first choice holding midfielder. I have a hard time believing that Parker would make it in to the Selecao since he just got completely schooled by Holland. The idea that Parker should ever have been England captain was laughable and it's just one of many reasons that Pearce won't be England manager and Redknapp will.
