Well done Fulkes. The winner with a final bank of £4,500. Excellent effort given the results over the 4 days. Well done Tam with £3,500. Also in profit were Saxon, Grizzly and Reebok, who more than doubled their money, and Petito.Good effort everyone. Some were blown out due to supposed bankers losing and others due to going for bust on the final day.

    well done guys!

i tell you what, i'm not surprised i made the smallest profit, but i expected more but smaller wins / places each day like normal. instead i had sudden surprise big wins and then nothing for ages. i suppose that's cheltenham, pretty unpredictable. and my total only differs by about a tenner but that's probably my miscalculating.

it was a heck of a lot of work sitting up in the wee hours working out odds, but not as much as Ron! thanks for doing this, made the festival completely different for non-betting me. i know a lot more about betting than i did before that's for sure, but i think i'll go back to ignoring the odds for a bit and watching uttoxeter where they run behind caravans, more my style.

    :)

Cheers Petito. Here's your list of bets. Could you let me know where we differ, in case I have a logic error somewhere. I can then tidy it up for next time.
    Thanks
    Ron

thanks Ron, I found the error. i knew it would be me: the 2:40 brindisi breeze i had £165 for the win and £65 for the place making £230 when it should have been £165 for the win and £52.50 for the place (1/4 odds 10/1 £15 stake) = total return £217.50. that's the exact difference between the totals (£12.50) and mine now agrees with yours. thanks for double checking. <ok>

Blimey - first time I've won a comp. Thought I'd blown it when I failed to submit my entry for the third day, which would have won me another £1,000k. Managed to make money for real this year as well, so very pleased.

Looks like a veterans race with Tam finishing second!

    Thanks for organising Ron.

At the risk of upsetting Grizzly - I think that Saxonviolins is the puppy of the bunch in the top 5 - life in us old dogs yet indeed :)

Thanks for doing these Ron <ok>

Just looked to see where I came. 11th. Not bad. That means I'm in the top quartile. And just underneath Janabelle. I'm not complaining.

Just done a little analysis of the results.

Based on size of return. The top 5 returns were all single bets. Of the top 50 returns, 47 were single bets.

Based on size of profit: The top 3 were single bets. Of the top 50 profits, 47 were single bets.

The only multiple bets in the top 50 to show a profit were
    1 * win double (£1550)
    1 * ew double £515.62)
    1 * ew L15 £180.75

This is keeping with previous comps.
