Lol. It's amazing the outpouring when an alcoholic falls off the wagon spectacularly however getting back on to it gives me something to focus on rather than what was going through my head yesterday
This whole saga is a wind up.......to start a rumour to upset the Saints fans. Bloody hell we are never happy unless we have got something to worry about are we? As some one else has already said how the bloody hell would any of us know for certain how Cortese gets on with the Liebherr family. We have to assume that it is on a good footing as it seems that all is carrying on as promised. We have no reason nor does anyone else, to feel that there is any kind of discord with the family. The same goes about the terms of the finances to the club. We all know that the Family had to lend the club money. Just the same as would happen when any club is taken over. So for goodness sake stop looking for trouble and stop worrying about gossiping clowns who just want to start a rumour.........Give me bloody strength.........
Nah. SLH went into admin. The administrator sold Southampton football club ltd and st marys stadium ltd to DMWSL613 Ltd. SLH was liquidated. DMWsl613 is the company Liebherr set up (or acquired off the shelf) and loaned 12m to for the purpose of buying SFC and SMS. The loan is now up to 20.4m as of the latest accounts available on companies house, presumably to cover the losses made before Oxo was sold. I think the training ground is an asset of the football club, not the stadium company.
If I can have just one tiny final word, Beddy, if that's OK..? Incidentally, I share your sentiment. We know one thing. Nicola and Markus had been great friends [remember the Watch..?] and Nicola had handled Markus's finances with great skill. So when Nicola said, Oi, Markus, this football club looks good, he was very quick to ask him to lead it, knowing full well what a change it would bring to Nicola and his family's life. We also know, from Nicola's very own mouth that, when Markus died, he felt like giving up, just for a short while. However, after a couple of weeks he said, in an interview, Nothing has changed. The family will pursue the dream of Markus Liebherr [even though we all know that it's just as much Nicola's dream as well].So, as Beddy intimates, I can't see what all the fuss is about.
Hi Joe, the comment was around if you lent money, you would expect it back - as it came out in the court case Harry lent a considerable amount of money he didnt get back and in fact was not very astute generally when it came to his finances. Him being innocent was irrelevent in terms of the post
Markus put his own money into his own football club. Purchasers of clubs like ManU, Liverpool, Rangers etc raised investment and even purchase money against the club. Although not on the same scale, our 'debts' are more like those Chelsea owe Abramovich. We have nothing to fear unless the Leihberrs go bankrupt ().
Hey Chill BT . It was a genuine question . Reading the replies my mind has been put at rest . BTW it was started on a Pompey forum by a saints fan .
in relation to a post earlier in this thread, I have found a definition of myself that all of you will no doubt agree with: a very arrogant well put together young urban professional who you more than likely will find wearing gucci and prada with a large bank account which they love to brag about. You can find them drinking Starbucks, living in a one bedroom apartment in a city where they will pay 1000-2000 a month for and spending another 3000 a month on their credit cards. They brag about their designer clothes and love to flaunt them , as well as their wealth. They look down upon anyone who isnt as wealthy or high status as they are. Men are likely to be found wearing designer suits, gucci preferably with slicked back or well cut hair. The women will be wearing prada/gucci and fendi. The most arrogant concieted ****s on the planet. I'm sure you'll all agree, but I don't care.
Dream on Joey. Just tell us the truth mate. How much pocket money does your Mum give you and are you still doing that paper round?
The last 'pocket money' I had was when I was at Uni, but it was more a loan. I didn't have a student loan, instead I got £500 a month to live on from my parents. They have been more than paid back since then. I never did a paper round.
The situation at Chelsea shows how these things can work. On the face of it, the club has massive debts, but a few years ago Abramovich converted a huge amount of the debt (loans) into equity. Bearing in mind that he owned all the equity, he was effectively gifting the money to the club. All the gossip about the family and NC is exactly that;gossip. NC is running the club in a responsible way and we have nothing to worry about at all. None of the assets of SFC have reduced in value over the last few years, quite the opposite in fact.
Think of it another way...you own a house with a 20K mortgage..if you sell it you pay the mortgage off not the purchaser. So if sold we would not be left with a debt. I was looking at a picture taken at the JPT...Markus is beaming and all his family are turning to look at him with love and joy..they know what it meant to him so I doubt they would sell us up the river.
