Whichever one of us gets through (assuming Barca beat Milan) as expected the one positive is that El Clasico is sandwiched right in between the ties. Now there is no way Barca will want to let Real win La Liga on their own turf which as it stands would happen if Real were to beat them. Without being too cynical there in a game of that intensity there is always a chance that injuries could be picked up in between in a game of that high intensity. If we lose then I want Benfica to go on and win it for principle if nothing else. All I'm saying is Barca won't have it easy playing 3 games of that intensity on the trot. We have the Arsenal game which is key but I don't really care for the QPR game so long as beat Arsenal.
Well if you could pick any game for Barca to be playing in between our games (if we both get there of course) if would be v Madrid. No hope of them resting players, tiredness, injuries etc could all come into it. Also what about the psychological issue if they lose the league that weekend?! Barca are a great side, but they were the other times we've played them and they have always struggled against us. But...lets make sure we deal with Benfica first and if so, It's anyones come the semis.
I don't think it matters, Madrid have all but won the title and we have an even more important fixture against Arsenal sandwiched between the CL ties.
It does. Trust me Drogs the El Clasico rivalry runs deep and is more than just football. Xavi and other senior Barca players were in tears when Inter denied them the chance of winning the CL at the Bernebau, it was a lifelong dream for many. Many Real fans welcomed Mourinho with open arms just for that reason. That virtually bagged Jose the job there. If the gap stays at 10 points, a Real Madrid win will seal the title at the Camp Nou, Barca will not want that and will do everything to ensure that does not happen. Imagine Spurs needing a win to seal the title at the Bridge or Celtic needing a win to seal the title at Rangers (could happen this season)/ Chelsea and Rangers would do everything to stop it happening and spare their fans the humiliation. Barca are no different. I am praying the gap stays at 10 points, just in case we get past Benfica
The 2 games in the group, Barca 2-2 Milan and Milan 2-3 Barca show that Milan do have a chance. I wish Milan had 2nd leg home though. Barca's away league form is really average. They won less than 50% but at home it's another story.
Barca...Schmarca, whatever, bring em on, we can beat this bunch of overpaid cheating divers. All we have to do is stop Messi Xavi and Iniesta playing. Job done. Simples
1. Helguson doesn't dive 2. Barton hasn't since he's been with us Chelsea's diving is on another level, all of your players manage to have a go, Drogba went down holding his face twice in a couple of minutes when on both occasions his face was not even touched as for Sturridge... As for overpaid, we have a couple from this year, but yours...
1. Just on derby day then is it? 2. I wasn't referring soley to Barton's diving, he's a hypocritical criminal knobhead on 80k a week for a team in the relegation battle, pot kettle black to say our players (who've won stacks of silverware) are overpaid when you have mercenary ****s like Cisse, Barton, SWP, Taraabt and Zamora playing yet are still relegation fodder most of our squad do not dive, Drogba I'll give you. Sturridge has this season.
Anyway, this thread is f*ck all to do with QPR so why are you here? Stick to the topic or do one, you do this way too often.
1. He didn't dive, most fans agreed it was a penalty, maybe exaggerated but there was enough contact 2. Barton and SWP are both overpaid and if you looked on the QPR board you'd see most fans hate those two, however, nearly ALL of your players are on over 50k a week when IMO no player in world football should get more than that and it saddens me that we are starting to pay a couple of players obscene amounts
I thought this thread was about the upcoming fixtures of our potential opponents? How come its debate has been all about diving? So--1) great news that the Spaniards are occupied in their own domestic rivalries! Should suit us--if we get past Benfica! and 2) Suggest Skinman Bok , as he introduced the subject and seemingly knows a lot about it, writes a separate article on "Diving"
Are you still going on about that FA Cup game? Every Chelsea fan I know accepts it wasn't a pen. But in truth QPR didn't do well enough to progress.
