..... Today the very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov decided that she wanted to see the Marriage of Figaro at the Mayflower so she went on line, sorted the seats she wanted and when she got to the point of payment the greedy blighters wanted over £10 for a combined booking fee and handling charge.

For the two of us to see this not particularly brilliant opera was going to set us back £90 quid and that was before drinks and dinner.

"No way" says she "they really are being far too greedy. For that price I would rather we go to one of the Saints' remaining away matches."

I suggested that before she decided which one we should wait until the weather warmed up a bit and then she wouldn't need a coat.

The moral of this story is if you don't want to be ripped off don't bother buying tickets for the Mayflower but go and see Saints away instead.

It will be much better fun and far better value.

Nando's is over rated ****. If you're going to see the opera, may as well do it properly and go to the ROH.

Love Nando's! Free chicken with th eloyalty card!

Does anyone know how many tickets you can get on your Season Ticket for an away game? A few of us are planning on going to Palace but not sure how many can be bought on one ticket.

Nando's lovers need to broaden their horizons. There is better chicken out there.

As for the theatre, I can't think of a bigger waste of money. I wanted to see The Book of Mormon when I was in New York, but the prices were outrageous.

New York theatre prices are outrageous. Last time I was in New York I wanted so much to see South Pacific but not at $145 a seat.

The very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov has led a quite sheltered life and I think a journey down the Old Kent Road would be too much of a shock for her. I had a great Uncle who lived a stones throw from the old Den and a more 'orrible neighbourhood you could never have seen. I was going to make some unkind reference to our neighbours down the M27 at that point but I have promised myself I will be kind to PompeyMeowth and DevonFrattoniser while they are going through such a very worrying time.

You quite clearly don't know/have never been to the ROH. Also what is this massive fascination with Nando's? I can make better myself. Would rather dine out at a better establishment. how much does a Nando's lunch cost? Lunch Menu at Oxfords Brasserie is 2 courses for £12 or something like that, much better value for money.

Godders, you cheapskate. Persuade her she doesn't want to pay for flights and tickets for Sydney Opera House and that'll cover next season's season tickets easily!

Channon she has been using her Post Office Savings book to get the money together for this years season ticket, I have suggested that it might be a little bit more than last year and she says that is OK as it is still excellent value with her senior's concession.

Some of you young lads on here might enjoy that spicy food but once you get to my age it's complan and nothing else or my stomach will be rumbling and groaning for weeks.

For those of you who wanted to know who won we all know that marriage is one of those win-win situations. The women get a husband to boss around and the men get decent food to eat.

Suspect it would be cheaper to book in advance. Tickets at box office or available via concierges at hotels are only for the rich.
