I think you misunderstood me I wasn't having a pop at liverpool fans or anyone that uses this thread, i was reffering to the GC posters yesterday, and was actually sticking up for liverpool fans and particular this thread and it's users from both sides. T

The explaination about the Man U term was for RHC as he was unaware of it's origins. Like I said in the original post it was made up decades ago I most people will not be aware of it's "offence"

personally I think today it's just a lazy way of saying manchester united; as manc is to mancunian.

I do accept that most people who use the manure word probably have no clue as to where it was derived from with regards to using it as an insult for Manchester United. Ignorance is all around us.

Are you bloody satisfied? It's been explained to you that the term manure is to us merely a play on words and has nothing to do with Munich. It's meant to be as insulting as the manc use of the terms Looserpool or Dogliesh. But you can't accept that and now it looks like we have lost 3 posters as a consequence!

 

Actually read back from on here last night and am suprised by our baz showing that he can be normal at times...

I don't know the history of the forum but it seems odd that a rabble of bigots managed to find each other through a football discussion board.

 

I thought the Suarez case had proved that the understanding of the recipient takes precedence over the intention of the user when it comes to how offensive a particular word or phrase is.

 

The GC forum was especially designed for the lunatic fringe.

You venture on there at your own risk,but as proved yesterday there is sometimes a mass breakout and the ****s attack other boards(Newcastle being an example)and theres usually casualties as there has been with luv,baz and Sky.

 

no probs mate, it's those sicko's on GC they got through to everyone and are sat there laughing at us, they just couldn't give a **** about anything, this thread broke down the barriers between united & liverpool fans, yes there was banter and the odd comment out of turn , but the banter was good humoured mostly and was better than the usual **** that passes between our clubs, I personally welcomed it, and enjoyed the majority of what occurred on here and other threads klike the music one.

More true banter went on here than anywhere else on this site and I hope everyone comes back and normal service resumes!
