I'm sure we tried that before, with Gerrard and Hobbs in the centre and Chester at right back. Think Rosey was suspended. I remember Chester not risking getting forward and the fans whinging. Think we were losing at the time, which didn't help. He's not great at running with the ball and you need that to play there.

However, i do agree with you about competition being good for the team.

    Yes it is.

Well NB could go with Chester Hobbs and Gerrard as a back 3 and Rosie and Dawson/Dudg as wing backs. Its a formation that could be used in certain games but i agree would not be a total change, just a thought.

Tickler, if a Hull City fan asks a player if he'd like to play for us, what do you expect him to say?

Whatever he thinks, do you really think he's going to considering saying anything other than he'd be happy to come?

He's hardly likely to say 'I'm hoping I can do better than Hull City'.

It was probably after the Wembley final and it was Steve Gerrard saying his cousin can 'Go To Hull'.
    Sounded something like that anyway.

I cannot see us paying anything more than 750k for Mannone, I would think we will be bidding around 500k. Absolutely no idea about this one, just my thoughts

Dont be so stupid. AG is not one to blow smoke up anyones back side. Its well known he would come back if asked.
But in saying that he would be foolish to dismiss anyone elses approach.

Would you bet on AG rejecting us then if NB asked him to come - assumeing the terms were right of course.? You just recently dismissed talk of Vito signing for us.

I would agree. Go in low at the start. But if any other clubs want Vito it may just cost a bit mote thats all. imo.

Don't think we would entertain a bidding war if costs exceeded a million quid

I would suggest that we would have a maximum but what that would be who knows ?. Then again If Vito states he only wants to play for Hull City then you maybe correct mate. Time will tell but noises being made sound good to me so far.

There's no doubt we will want to sign him permanently, it's whether a deal can be done. I cannot see us paying over the odds for anyone so the ball will be well and truly in Arsenal's court

Arsenal to shift the deadwood in the summer. Vito is apart of that. They have more keepers than teams. SSN report that Wenger wants an experienced No.2 keeper for Schezney in the summer. Almunia also look like toast there.
