Inspired by a blog post from QPR supporter Steve Heard, I put together some musings about QPR's apparent change in status - from club somewhat admired by neutrals as a nice family club with good fans to one much more widely mocked and reviled. Along the way, this is contrasted with the cult status enjoyed by German club St. Pauli. WARNING: If you tend to find yourself using the term "PC brigade" in an non-ironic way, you might not enjoy this article... http://thisismyengland.blogspot.com/2012/03/no-one-likes-us-do-we-care.html
It's no wonder our club has been ruined by money We will go down as the model on how not to run a football club . We will not recover from this ... The club with the money who blew it The last club in the west of London that sold its soul
shall i repost or will it just gett deleted again.. The one thing i REALLY hate about forums is post being deleted with no explanation..b ecause it doent fit in with others ideas.... If that is the case here then pleaase delertte my account....I honestly thought eveyone here had an opinion.. If i am wrong then i appologise? I'l await some sort of reply from someone?
again didnt really read the article or posts properly so this is probably sh**e, but the days of the far right , Skins etc being a problem at QPR are far gone....when i grew up.."skin / racist b.ashing " had replaced "pa*I bashing" It would take some very brave and dumb racists to turn up at HQ and unfortunately we have some.....never seen them do anything except applaud black players etc..shows exactly how dumb they are !! Anyway...nothing wrong with the flag....kill the f-ing nazi's i say over to you now ...lol
Your posts are being sold in a car boot sale at HQ to help fund players wages; so far there's not been a whole lot of interest
thanks darling !! at least someone bothered to reply..!!...... where are you from and who are you?!! ..never seen you b4 and not read anything from ya.......your posts aint even got to the boot sale have they? stay up inb the hills with them sheep please, they willl get lonely with out you !! joker
I thought this was a very interesting blog, worth some reflection. Firstly, St Pauli have values that go beyond football, and it's all to do with politics and history. Their values are great and it's fantastic that they actually act on them. But the stance of the club is obviously driven by a Nazi past which thankfully we don't share. Other clubs have values and causes as well, or at least their fan bases do. Barcelona for Catalonia, Rangers and Celtic sectarian support, Lazio the extreme right (Imaz has a list of what he regards as 'fascist clubs'),AC Milan and Juve's fans were historically left of centre. But I can't think of any English clubs like this, and I can't see how it would happen - its more to do with the English than football. We are just not politically sensitised enough to do this kind of thing. So be content with the steady erosion of the pathetic attitudes of some in the crowd, we are making progress. I have to say though, if we had a club in England like St Pauli when I was growing up and before I became obsessed with QPR, I would have been strongly drawn to it. The comedian Stewart Lee is very good, and funny, on the 'PC gone mad' brigade. Nice one This is My England, keep them coming.
I thought those songs sang against Brighton were very funny. But as the OP said, these things only tend to be funny when they're not directed at us!
It may well be the law of the high and mighty but it obviously ain't part of the FA's "fit and proper persons" rule. Richard Fry is gaily carrying out his work as a shareholder at Norwich
"sing when you're rimming, you only sing when you're rimming stand up 'cos you can't sit down" Ah, come on, those 2 are funny

Interesting article thisismyengland. I'd never heard of St Pauli and they certainly have a great badge and philosophy. You seem to be asking why there aren't any clubs like that in England and the answer is that we don't have Germany's unfortunate history. Under Hitler, the state tried to 'co-ordinate' everything, from football clubs to choirs - its no wonder that there was a reaction and part of that legacy is St Pauli. Football here was never politicised as it has been in other countries but that doesn't mean that clubs have no politics. I supported QPR in the 80's rather than Chelsea because Chelsea were the club for right-wing racists and I wasn't. its all moved on since then and homophobia is 'the last taboo' in football, but that is changing. When a Tory Prime Minister can come out in favour of gay marriage it can't be long before football sheds this prejudice too. I was at the Withdean for that match by the way, we lost 2-1 I think.
