For me this forum has got very stale of late. Iâll put my hands up and accept my share of the responsibility for that as I have virtually given up posting, but there are just the same ideas and grumbles being re-circulated time and again. Joey Barton, SWP, Weâre Doomed, We Will Survive and, the biggest anathema as far as Iâm concerned (but I appreciate that I'm in the minority), The Word Association thread; weâll Iâm bored with it and, from the monikers of those currently posting, I think a few of the old crew are as well. We need to try to discover some new ground to discuss so here is my desperate attempt to put something new on the agenda. Well, I hope it is new, I dare say someone will correct me! So letâs imagine that Tony has put us in charge of designing the new ground. What features would we like to see? Sufficient leg room and decent toilets are a given, but what else? I have a few ideas up my sleeve but Iâll hold them back for later.
I have a feeling it will be a bit trashy as you only have to look at the Air Asia and Lotus brands ... Very 2nd class I still believe TF is just a front for Bernie's money ... The F1 lot are all in bed with each other
Roller, From what Ive seen this is still the best forum out there, open, few 'gangs', interaction with other clubs (even, unfortunately, Norwich). The nature of the board changes over time, the situation that the club is in and with new members. I agree recently there has been a lot of repetition, but we all know why. There have also been many interesting threads, if you can spot them. Keep posting mate, it's just a bit of fun. I've been posting quite a lot recently, but I doubt I average more than 15 mins a day on here, usually in airport lounges.....it's still the best way I know to keep up with rumors, gossip and even occasionally truth, thanks to the dedicated bunch who trawl the web for QPR related stuff. Also quite a lot of it makes me laugh. Re the stadium, this is a case in point. There was a thread a couple of weeks ago where people were posting pictures, the works. Couple of cracking German stadiums if I recall rightly. For the record, I would like Loftus Road, but better - steep stands right on the pitch, no pillars, Perhaps two tiers, comfy Emirates style seats, much better access to the ground itself... The Word Association thread (or Northolt Memorial thread) is naff, but surely harmless.....
A post about a new ground isn't exactly breaking the mould Roller, it's been done to death on here much the same as the other posts you have noted. Where the ground would be has been much debated but what we would want to see in it is a new one though. For me I'd like better toilets and clean toilets, more variety of food as everything is junk even though I do have total respect for the chicken tikka pie! I don't know about you lot but I seem to sit in a row full of incontinent people and supporters who don't own a feckin watch. During the game I am up and down more often than a whore's drawers. If they aren't going for a piss they are leaving early to get to the bar or coming back late from the bar. I'd like to see shorter length rows of seats with more gangways to allow those with bladder control issues a chance to disturb fewer people when they have to take a leak.
Let´s keep the Loft, it is just the right ground for us. I like to watch football with good atmosphere around and no fancy arena.
jesus christ..me and norway and few others posted unlimited pics of grounds only 2 weeks ago..is this really ground breaking, origional or even (dare i say it) interesting... Come on mate..i know you can do better than this.... This site is filled with a wealth of knowledge and personalities ( and those of us that cant spell)...Up the ante....please
How about ..."whats the best knocking shop within walking distance of the ground? and how early do you leave the game to get thier first ?!!!
Just as long as there's a branch of Dignitas nearby. If I was TF I wouldn't make any decisions just yet, the one to replace the manager is looking like its going to bite him on the proverbial. I don't recall many other decisions being taken..... oh dear.
I am the artist formerly known as DT and have entered a period of 21 days or negative worship as a penance to the rubbish i have posted
Who cares about pics from other grounds, we (QPR) can only fill around 18000 and that is just what our little stadium offers. No need to waist money on something that will never pay off.
As Grove gleaned, I'm after what is inside the ground, not a few pictures of other club's stadia. I don't think that that particular aspect has been done to death, but I may be wrong. Grove, I'm completely with you on the shorter rows for exactly those same reasons, it is incredible how many times you have to move to let someone pass.
Thats because once we get to 15k, you cannot buy 2 tickets together or get an unobstructed view and I wouldnt be paying the money we charge to sit in those seats, especially as you end up with bloody knees if you wear shorts. Even at the moment, wed easily get 25k in our current position or being in the top 3 in the NPC.
I had tapas in the West End last night. Very nice but pricey. All those little dishes soon add up. Oh, the new ground you say... well I would like to see well banked seating so I don't have to look round the afro style hairdo of the bloke who currently sits in front of me. I would also like to see a small standing area for all those oiks who think standing up shirtless is the only way to properly appreciate your team. For the rest of the ground a strict policy on standing should then be enforced. Oh, and I also like the curved stands used at the Etihad which means you can actually see the action in the corners without having to develop x-ray vision.
Now I get it you're not Jesus, you're John the Baptist, preparing the ground for the return of the chosen one and launching a crusade against the 'dreadfully fickle'
