The pros and cons of Bates at the helm has been done to death and back over recent months. For the first time in a very long time, there is a positive air about the club, due in no small measure to the arrival of Warnock, appointed by Bates.. It still doesn't seem to stop the bulk of the treads here from degenerating into a Bates slanging match. Ive been guilty of the same but it is getting tedious, boring and unproductive. Time for us all to rally behind a great manager and see where he can take us. In other words, its time for some to put on a different record on the jukebox
I have made my reasons for not putting it on hold quite clear several times, and I have no intention of changing my mind on it.
Whether you like him or not, we're stuck with him, so make the most of the positivity at the moment! Doesn't happen often enough with us
Im all for being positive. But if we just forget about the bad things in our club we'll never do anything about them
I dont think he is saying forget about it, but the protests and what not do hinder the club's chances of promotion
Agreed, but they are necessary. well they are until someone comes up with something better. If snod, clayton, white etc dont get improved contracts and get flogged on the cheap you'll be all for protesting!
Of course (not necessarily white though, couldn't give a rats arse about him). I don't want us to lose our best players however if you were a player at a club with all the fans protesting before every home game you would start to question the club and think there is something wrong regardless of what the reasons are. You'd then question yourself as a player to whether you want to be involved in a club like that
I think if the protests are kept pre/post game theres no issue. The players arent stupid. They know the reasons. Even Snoddy came out and said the protests and bates chanting doesnt affect the team as they are professionals who just do their job. He knows the fans want more investment. Im 100% sure he wants the same thing!. As for white. Hes 20, got extreme pace and is already a 1st team regular. Tie him down to a 4 year contract and if he keeps improving he'll be a quality player.
I love how thats the thing you pick out of that Marko. Snoddy can say it doesn't affect him because it shouldn't in all reality but it would. And not only that having 10 000 less fans as well would affect the atmosphere which in hand affects the team.
He may have appointed a good manager (so he should by the way, he's the chairman), but it still doesn't and never will alter the fact that the players who have shone over the past 2 or 3 seasons have left because we have either failed to improve the terms of a new contract, or we didn't sign them up for long enough in the first place. And then we spend millions on developing the stadium. He can't have it all ways, but he seems to think he can. There are lots of other points too but as the original post explains, it is time to forget about these for the next couple of months and concentrate mire on the team for the **** or bust last 10 (or 13!) games. MOT
He appointed a good manager as a panic move after trying to set things in motion to appoint Redfearn. The propaganda machine was at full speed in the time before Warnock was appointed, the club was taking every opportunity to point out how well Redfearn was doing and how much the players like him and "there's a positive feeling about the training ground. Let's forget that the team are playing crapper than with Grayson in charge". It made me sick, I'm glad I walked out of the pavilion before Lorimer started spinning the same corporate drivel by asking some of the youth players questions about "Redders" and "how well he's doing"
And wait until we lose Snodgrass for peanuts. Until Elland Road is re branded Beeston Grand Hotel. Until we sell all our best players, replace them with loan signings and free agents before been relegated back to League One just like Sheffield Utd was. Until we hear more lies and deceit. I'm all for positivity and loving the new Leeds under Warnock but that doesn't mean I'm about to turn a blind eye to Bates ****ing us over. But hey there's hope, it can't be much longer until the bastards pops it and ends up 6 feet under. And I love the way people (including the one and only himself) make it sound like it was an act of genius to appoint Warnock. Not like 99% of the footballing world said he should get the job or nothing. But yeah in conclusion you can turn a blind eye and wait and watch your football club be raped of it's soul and everything else without complaint but I aren't about to do that. BATES OUT!
Bates was fine last season until he started pissing about with Johnson's contract, that sort of thing doesn't help the club at all. This year he has taken LUFC backwards on the field and increased prices to attend Elland Road, for that he deserves all the criticism and abuse aimed at him.
Increase ticket prices but not the wage budget. In fact, lets cut the wage budget, I need a new Yacht. What? The fans will complain? No don't be silly, they'll blindly come out of their love for Leeds. And their opinions don't matter anyway, they don't know how to run a business! Pah.
I want to see the best for our great club. God knows Ive supported them as long or longer than most on here but Im beginning to think some of you are like a dog with a bone, not willing to let go no matter what. Im not sure even promotion would satisfy some. I think we have now got the right manager in place, possibly for the first time in twenty years. He deserves our full support. At least give him a full season in charge before drawing the daggers. Who knows, if we lose Snoddy and White, Warnock could well replace them with equally effective players
Well Warnock and the players will have our full support on Saturday when we will get our biggest crowd of the season. I just hope the lads do us proud in what will be an extremely difficult match like they did at Upton Park.

He deserves to be questioned about what happened with Johnson and increased ticket prices. He deserves to be questioned about a lowish wage structure and he deserves to be questioned for other things. Doesn't mean you hinder the team's chances by protesting a chairman who actually has the club in a stable place and at a time when a new manager has it against him for us to get into the play-offs. Full support is what is needed and all this **** being spouted doesn't help the team in anyway whatsoever regardless of what Marko wants to bring up next
