That's priceless. <laugh>

You should send her back a disgustingly graphic response.

I'll attempt a serious answer

a) Yes. Especially in this country. In America, due to the First Amendment, they have it as their constitutional right. Unfortunately/fortunately (depending on which side of the fence you sit) our freedom of speech seems based around the desire to keep everyone happy...I don't agree that extremist Muslims should be allowed to hold banners at funerals stating 'English soldiers will burn in hell'...However, I do believe that if that's what they truly believe, they should be entitled to hold a demonstration at another time and place.

b) Again, it's the 1st amendment and you don't **** with an American's amendments! PLUS their religion is based loosely around a form of christianity. They've chosen to focus on much of the more extreme statements of the old and new testament and not on the overall message that Jesus supposedly preached. There are similar sections of society over here who believe similar things, but go about it in a much less militant way...Even in Belfast, they're referred to as 'Christians' (they use the term to describe extreme piety, not simply a belief in Christ) and they genuinely believe that any sin (be it getting drunk, to masturbation, to blasphemy and swearing) will send you to hell, and they only way to avoid hell, is to change.

c) It's the deep south of America...*** is probably the 3rd word you learn after 'God' and 'Gun'

They are utter fruit loops, watched the video at the top and if anything they are just sad people. They are just preaching hatred against everything, and the kids are being well and truely brainwashed. It's a wonder someone hasn't killed them.
She must have a reasonable level of intelligence though if she is an attorney in law.

As for the freedom of speech argument, it really comes down to time and place. Holding up placards at peoples funeral is just out of order. Much like the feckers burning poppy's on rememberance day, they should have made an example of them but as usual the police bottled it.

Yes there are limits Tash even in America. She is bang out of order by any logical viewpoint but there is no reasoning with somebody as mad as that so stay well clear and save yourself the frustration.

Unfortunately though the laws of free speech (or the interpretation of them) seem to be far stricter when opposing religion than in the preaching of religion, so it is an argument that is dangerous to fight. If I was as candid in my views opposing religion as she is in preaching it I would be hit with a lawsuit or have a Jihad proclaimed on my ass in no time!

I have to say though that the music she was preaching against on her site was utter shoite and Bieber probably would deserve hell, if such a place existed.

Wetsboro Baptist Church are a bunch of ****s. I think her old man has about six wives, just tell her to go copulate with her own brother. Could you imagine those idiots turning up at Wooton Basset where they march the coffins of British servicemen when they come off the planes at RAF Lynham, there'd be murders.
As for freedom of speech, yes there should be limits. You can't have Islamic radical clerics (as an example) inciting people to become suicide bombers either in mosques, over the internet or through other literature. Though it's not illegal to post that sort of thing on the internet you usually find most of the radical websites are attacked and crash within a day or two.

TBF these nutjobs would still be around - religion or not. It's unfortunately the extremes of human nature and they hide their extreme lunatic views behind what they try and pass off as religion.
Most religious that I know are some of the kindest and non-preachy people you'll meet, the Sikh temple near mine even does free curries on certain day and they're bloody amazing - been a couple of times and had a good natter with a few of them - still don't have a clue what their religion is about as they never spoke about it!
Same goes for the Christians I've met along the way - the ones I've met just believe that God created everything, but seeing as the few I've met were scientists, teachers, engineers etc they believe in evolution, the big bang and the like - religion just fills in the gaps that science can't answer for them (where did the materials come from for the big bang for example?)
If we didn't have religion, these extremists would just hide behind different things like the United Atheist Aliance or Allied Atheist Alliance and still be fighting over what they think is right!

Personally I don't believe in anything, but I can see how obvious it is that these extremists have an agenda behind their thinly veiled religious excuse that they use, I mean some atheists try and use these people for their own selfish agenda and are just as bad for trying to inflict their views on others.

^^^ This

Osama Bin Laden's jihad isn't based on the Qur’an in any shape or form but the teachings of some mad cleric that taught him years ago.

I agree with your assessment that these nutjobs would find some cause to be extreme about even if religion didn't exist and that it is not right to judge all theists by the actions of these people. But to nit pick a bit, they wouldn't become radicle atheists. The term atheist and the meaning of being one would end along with religion. They'd become ardent racists or nationalists or something instead.

Aye I completely agree Donkey toon, my radical atheist quip was just to lighten up the mood a bit - don't know if anyone has seen that South Park episode called Go God Go?
It was just a reference to that, where Trey Parker & Matt Stone make the same underlying point that I made albeit in a cartoon comedy form!
