Australia spec exhaust: please log in to view this image The little kink has gone. Whether this means they've reverted from trying to seal the diffuser to simply blowing the beam wing or they've found a way to feed the diffuser without burning the floor is open to conjecture. They have found a neat solution to stalling the front wing: please log in to view this image
Is it me or does that actually look a little bodged? like McLarens rear end last year with as the temporary titanium.... which granted worked.
To reassure you guys on my sexual orientation - when 'the fat guy' was mentioned I had to go back and take a look. The large curve of the guy's stomach revealed what I hope is a thumb !!! but I just had to laugh......
This was covered in most news outlets yesterday but, for some reason, Autosport has waited until today to report it. Mercedes raised a query with the FIA over Red Bull's "clever" trick of inducing a misfire by cutting more than four cylinders, which they supported with an audio recording. Andrew Benson explained the potential advantages this can give: Whiting investigated and Red Bull's data showed that a minimum of four cylinders are firing, just not in the expected order. They are, therefore, not doing anything wrong. My question is, is this controlled through an engine mapping (in which case the other teams could easily copy it if they can see an advantage and their engines will behave accordingly) or is it a mechanical configuration on the engine (thus Renault-specific)?
hmmm fiendish. Hopefully VMM will have ways of implimenting this, and the DRS stalling device should they need too.
