I've just been on CPFC BBS forum and they definitely don't think McShane can play against us.

They're a bit worried about who will be playing, as Gardner(ankle) and Clyne(knee) are both doubts for Saturday.

I hope to god both Gardner and McShane play, imagine Stewart or King running at Macca, it'd be bloody penalties all around!!!

I hope Gardner plays. Did I ever mention he was the worst player I've ever seen in my life?

He was one player I absolutely couldn't stand watching play. He was consistently **** in every single game he ever played for us and only ever got by on reputation because he apparently once played for England, that and the fact people blamed Zayatte most of the time when he was the one actually trying. Gardner single-handedly gave goals away time and time again by completely refusing to mark strikers, he also never won a header in his time here despite being 6'5". He was a joke.

The game that really summed him up was Millwall away last season. We lost 4-0 to 4 headers from crosses/corners. Guess who was 'marking' the scorer for all 4 goals?

Would like to see us start with the same starting line-up as against Cardiff.

I know you never liked him, but I'm afraid he doesn't even make the top hundred worst players we've had at City.

I tried to find a clip of the Millwall goals to explain what I mean, but unfortunately youtube is just packed full of videos by the Millwall 'casuals' boasting about how they 'taunted Hull's fans'. Theres about 20 videos of the crowd, and none of the game. What is their problem with us?

You did miss out his other great feature. Very handy at times with the odd own goal or 2. Wolves @ home 2nd PL season was a classic. The way he swung his foot and lobbed the stranded Bo Myhill. Classic own goal merchant.

agreed. I have nothing against him personally. But as a footballer he is an absolute joke. I really don't understand. If he wasn't a tryer he'd never have had a career in this sport.

To be fair Zayatte also had a shocker that game. Poor Matt Duke in goal never stood a chance. Even the mighty Buffon would have had his work cut out that day to keep em out.

The thing I really hated about him was the fact he didn't try. If you find any clip of a goal we conceded in the PL years, you'll almost certainly see Zayatte busting a gut to get across the area to block a shot (probably falling over and looking silly) and then Gardner on the other side of the box with his hands on his hips. Another classic one I've just remembered was the goal that eventually sent us down: Darren Bent for Sunderland, Gardner stood and watched him score.

Could you imagine how a keeper like Schmeichel (the older one) would be reacting during the game to playing behind a defence like that?

That's one of the two alternatives I was thinking of. The other was that we'd need to use our sub keeper after about 20 minutes when Schmeichel managed to pass out due to lack of oxygen for all the times he was having to bollock the defence.

Fair point well made. Maybe he would just raise the white flag and walk off. ?
