Maybe he cannot settle elsewhere? Good to see McGinn get another run out and is Bruce being lined up as an extra centre half?
Connor Smith says he has been enjoying his time on loan at Wealdstone and said it's good to get out. It's a good experience and it's a little more physical than the youth team football. You have seen Massey there and he is around the 1st team and Marvin Sordell is in the premiership, so it's obviously beneficial. He thinks they have a chance of a giant killing in the second leg of the FA trophy semi-final. He is happy to do whatever the club want to so with regards to loans after Wealdstone, and he hopes to get more 1st team experience wherever he goes. He says it's good to get back to Watford and play a different way so as not to become too used to playing other styles. At Wealdstone it can be a lot of long ball stuff, but here it's quick sharp play.
Bassini has been busy.. Sounds like positive news that we are starting to pay back the debts we owe. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9589964.Bassini_makes___1_5m_payment/
A couple of days late, but paid. What is the interest on £1.5M for two days, £41 at BoE base or £820 at high street small business rates?
Alex Kacaniklic knows what is needed of him. http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2658913,00.html
Martin Jol must have mixed feelings about us as a club to loan to when you compare how the loans of Kacaniklic and Trotta have panned out. Anyone think that the way he's progressing, that Murray will be in the RoI U-21 squad for their next qualifier in June? Purely from a Watford point of view, I'd rather he had the whole of the close season off so he's fresh for next year.
I'd be very surprised if it hasn't been discussed Barry. The only question in my mind is whether club and country will agree that it is in the best interests of all concerned to delay the step up. I of course wouldn't begrudge him playing at his highest international level so far, but would suggest that his ambition is to be a Premier League regular and full international. His best hope of realising that is by having a restful summer and continuing his current good form into his first full Championship season. That should play a part in us winning promotion, and his senior international callup will surely follow.
It would appear that young Britt is really progressing at a good pace. I hope it doesn't mean we have some injury problems, but it looks as if it could be planned for when he reached a certain stage. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9592404.Assombalonga_recalled_by_Watford/
Bonham extends loan spell. http://www.footballcourier.com/news...nham-extends-harrow-loan-deal/full_story.html Britt recalled from braintree http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2658909,00.html
My problem is I've had a humour bypass today and this infantile attempt at humour is irritating. The fact you and BHD seem to support it because you know the individual is frankly disappointing. Thanks Aberdeen. Why has Bob Sherunkle been closed. I think the song game is silly and the change a letter game marginally less so. But do I demand they are shut down? NO. I just don't look at them. Hornette is quite right. If there are no people interested, it will naturally drop off the radar. It is not rude or offensive, but brings a little humour to some of us who still have a sence of humour. Aberdeen, just because you are grumpy, please don't try to pass it on to other people.
From the Wobby link about Bassini and the bond repayment, re the Red Lion; "I was going past the Red Lion yesterday. doors and windows were open and painters were working on gantries in the pub. Once this has been completed, new floors are being laid. Work is expected to be complete by the end of the month. So much for no work being carried out!" God there are a lot of moaners on that site... but good to see a few people on there backing the club rather than moaning that Bassini "might" have used funds from transfer to pay the bonds! They say there is no evidence he paid it himself, but nothing on the contrary either!
In fairness to Aberdeen, just about everyone bar Hornette and Dan, including this forum's very first mod and including myself, were demanding the thread be re-closed. I'm not saying your opinion isn't valid Mark, just that it's not fair to single one person out. Anyway, for me the big news is Britt being recalled. Surely he is now a nailed on cert to play in the Football League this season?
I guess with Britt they want to get him training inn and around the first team, then maybe once Trotta's loan spell ends, give him a couple of sub appearances! The 7-sub rule would have been perfect for having the likes of Britt on the bench for some experience and possibly 20 minutes here and there, now we are pretty much safe!
The seven sub rule has had a big impact, but I don't think it matters once you're safe. Wasn't Tommie Hoban was the only centre back on the bench for his debut? With Mapps on the pitch to cover an injury at full back, the only difference is that he would have been the only defender.
Proof, as if it were needed, that the majority of managers are incompetent, telly watching morons who bloody well deserve to lose their jobs every other year. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9589684.Top_ten_Championship_players_announced/?ref=mr
Robert Snodgrass should be in the top 5 IMO, the fact that he isn't in the top 10 is a bit of a joke. They only tend to go for the top 6 clubs in these type of things.
This payment came from Bassinis pocket as it was deposited with the solicitors at time of purchase. They produced a letter to prove the funds. I'm guessing a lot of the surplus on transfers has gone on operating expense as we were not turning a profit and not due to just yet.
good news on Britt, with some luck our forward line is going to be fixed internally. I still yearn for a new John Barnes and Nigel Callaghan to terrorise opposition full backs crossing in to a Jenkins Blisset centre read Iwelumo and Deaney....
