Mig seems to have claimed the number one spot for now. Gordon on the bench and ready to pounce. Westy gone very quiet. Could Westwood but the odd one out and not Gordon? I would be sad to see any of them gone but one must go you would have thought, I would be sad if it was Westwood because he looked good. Then again, maybe its just a quiet Thursday and I'm looking for something that is not there.
Gordon will be number 1 next season. You can't drop Mig at this minute, however during pre-season you can. I honestly believe that MON will give Gordon a new contract, then give him the number 1 spot. This gives him time to get fit during the off season, then pre-season beast it. Unfortunately I can see Westwood leaving to a Champ team - which is shame.
Would have liked to see more of Westwood before ranking him above/below with Mig and Gordon. Gordon is probably on high wages? I cannot see us recouping the £9m, Cannot really drop Mig atm cos' he has nothing wrong and a lot right although I suspect I rank Flash and Westy(?) above him. So we have 3 good keepers...over to you Martin
3 keepers is 1 keeper too many. One of them will definitely be going in the summer and as we won't want to lose a £9m one for nowt, I'd guess it will be westwood or mig who will be moved on. I do think if Gordon can prove his fitness, he will be the number one before the start of next season and on a new contract.
Of the three, I'd be inclined to let Gordon go. Strange that I'd rate him as the best of the three. The thing is though the other two aren't bad keepers (albeit Westwood hasn't had much playing time) and won't be as on as high wages as mentioned earlier. Couple that with Gordons apparent osteoperosis and buckled knees. Hes also 29, not exactly old for a keeper I know, but I can't see his injuries becoming less significant and frequent.
Is it not about time Mig got some credit for his performances this season? He's kept 8 clean sheets in the 20 league games he's played and while there've been some excellent overall defensive performances there hasn't been a consistent defence in front of him. Not saying there hasn't been a few hearts in mouth moments, but overall I think he's had a good season and most importantly has improved on last. Also proved he can stand up to the Stoke bully boys - no goals conceded in either game - unlike the limp noodle display at the Britannia from Gordon last season.
ang on mate is that a propersition, if it is i don't bend that way, if its not how are you mate nice to hear from you
I have to say I think Migg has been brilliant recently apart from the WBA game. Its very rare he has conceded more than 1 goal in a game and he is a superb shot stopper. His coming for cross's has improved and for me its only his kicking that's a little dodgy. Westwood will become our number 1 given the chance. The bass player in my band supports Cov and I saw him play for them last season where he was fantastic. He is young but has everything going for him. I think he will become a class act and I would be very disappointed if he leaves. As for Gordon, yes he is good and yes he is worth 9m but I question his loyalty. Why did he not sign a new contract almost 18 months ago when he was fit and we were doing well?? I think Gordon will go and we will probably save 40k a week in wages which we can give to Sess to keep him.
