im struggling fellas to see how changing your manager yr by yr is helpin your club to win things ? Im sure that the outside world is bemused by what is goin on ? no stability ... player power etc !! anyways i hope a top club like yours builds again but not this saturday !!!! UTP gl fellas
Potterplan--Just in case you happened to miss it, I'll bring you up to date! By regularly changing our manager over the past 8 years, we've managed to win the PL 3 times, the FA Cup 3 times, the League Cup twice and made a CL final! Its a bit of a merry go round on occasions, but there;s never a dull moment at Chelsea! Dont get me wrong...there's people like Mourinho,Ancellotti,Ranieri and even AVB , I was puzzled and disappointed at their demise--but whatever, the ends always seem to justify the means!
And in the same time, Arsenal with the great Arsene Wenger have won pretty much sod all. Just goes to show there isn't only one model and the fact remains, there is unlikely to ever be a tenure like Fergie has had at United. Barca have done alright since sacking Rikjaard who won a few trophies etc.
I keep hearing that stability brings success but other than fergie no one is able to give an example of this. I can name many teams that have kept a manager and won nothing.
Exactly that. The two most successful clubs in this country over the last few years are us and United. One has had one manager the other has had many. Where I guess it does come more into play is the development of youth and not wasting money (on new managers and players to suit each new man's demands etc). Fergie's never going to get sacked so can bring youth through alot more than a Chelsea manager who has to get results instantly so just relies on the same players all the time. Fergie's tenure at United is a one off. It'll be interesting to see how United fare in this department post Fergie.
Happy days! Robbie flies out of the traps with a great result. Keep it up my old cocker and I'll give you a big wet kiss! WE'RE BACK IN BUSINES!
One win down, two to go. What a baptism of fire for RDM this first 9 days is in his tenure!! Also guys, if we beat Leicester at home we're back at Wembley, our 2nd home!!
i dont know who the senior players are who avb was suppose to of upset but last night you had terry lamps and drogba all on the bench and all seeming very happy and celebrating with di matteo, that can surely only be a good sign.
