Funny you should bring this up when I couldn't be arsed to bring this up earlier: Asda worried Union Flag might O'Ffend scotch and oirish.
The Sainsbury's in West Belfast has all of it's signage translated into Irish - Union Jack Mars Bars would ruin the whole theme
"Howe dare an employee from Asda vis Wall-Mark, surmise that the Union Jack on items would offend some Scots. I am actually offended that we do not see enough Union Jacks on products, so that we can see that we are buying and supporting our businesses and economy. I have made a point for years, never to shop at Asda as it is not British owned and advise others to shop elsewhere, preferable Morrisons as this was a small family owned British Company who are now expanding in the UK.- Lizzie M., Alexandria, UK (Great Britain)" We should all buy stuff from people who were randomly born in some close geographical proximity to myself because these random people are all superior to the random people born in places slightly further away - oh and brown people randomly born close to the place I was born don't count
I will take into account the origin of produce in the supermarket buying English before British before others. Doing my own token, pathetic, waste of time bit for our economy. If everyone did it, it would have massive consequences.
For a few hundred years the British have been galavanting around the planet basically creating modern globalism (and not always to the advantage of the people who were being globalised) so it's a bit fickle to baton down the hatches now after basically creating the entire nation's wealth on this premise.
Whit's the name of the other kraut shop? Anyhoo somebody told me Lidl was owned and run by brothers who had a falling out and they went their seperate ways. The other brother started the other kraut supermarket chain. The name of which currently escapes me. Dunno if it's true or not.
