He didnt choose to not be fit, and I'm just guessing, but I think the rest of the team have drank before Ireland got here and will after he leaves. Houllier comments were apologised for on the same day, and that hardly affects us does it?

 

When I am off work sick I don't go in to encourage my colleagues.

 

I bet you dont go into work when you're sick though, unless they give you free medical care as well? He'll still see and talk to them them every day because he has to be treated for his injury.

And how do you know he instigated it? For all we know it was Best's idea, or they all wanted to go out. It was St Patrick's day.

Don't blame them for wanting to go out on the St. Paddy's weekend, but they're not representing the club particularly well by looking like muppets although I get what Mod face said about feeling vain and maybe they were a bit tipsy.

Bit of a non-story tbh, and I don't think Pardew will 'investigate' he's probably saying this to shut the media up.

Yeah but its not a very good thing that a player signs for 4 months on loan and has to wait 3 months for his debut (I'm aware that in 7 weeks he'd only ever have been available for 2 games), obviously it seems reading further down that he was as drunk as it would appear, but they must know as footballers they need to be careful. It's unprofessional how he comes out with these comments then can't get himself fit.

 

Again, he was not in control of his injury and it was the club who chose to sign him in the knowledge of his injury. Also if you read it it says they had not even consumed alcohol, so whats the issue.

 

Yeah I can see ya point but I'm sure players the players must know in the current climate don't do anything that can be reported in the press and taking ya shirts half off is asking for trouble. The guy is on 65k a week and is never fit, yet he's never had a serious injury.

 

I don't think anything serious should happen, just a slap on the wrist, especially if they've had no alcohol. Just going out for a night, not much wrong there for me...
