Likewise there'll be plenty not as fortunate who for many reasons couldn't get to all of those games, so having parents that can fund you and having the time and lack of other commitments isn't necessarily a sign of superiority either.
No one likes to be branded inferior, but if you are saying you are equal to people who have been going to games for over 4 decades, you risk being bracketed as such.
i arent one of the snobs claiming superiority, and for the record every ticket ive ever personally had has been paid for by myself, and the only commitment i would let get in my way is a funeral...so guess on that note i am claiming some

But you ARE claiming superiority, and you may have bought your tickets but I reckon you'd have had support in other ways, like living with parents etc. But this is sidetracking. There'll always be exceptions and there are different ways to claim kudos, but however it's done, it shouldn't overlook the effort taken by the longer term fans that helped create the club later comers can be so committed to. You should never overlook your history and heritage.
so somebody who attends 99% of the games over 15 years is unequal to people who pay a passing interest over 30 odd years... cant remember who it was who called you an idiot the other night, but they must be pleased there suspicions have been confirmed.
i arent claiming superiority, i didnt want to bring the number of games i attend up etc....but annoys me when i see people claiming some sort of credit for the year the where born....my point is you cant help your age..but you can help the level of what you do when you are born...basically people im saying im 60 im a better fan, congratulations, ill say the same when im 60, hope some of you are still here to read it.

I'd turn that on its head. When I've seen the comments, for the most part it's more as you've put it, which shows a lack of respect to the people that helped create the club you were fortunate enough to be able to go and see. Unfortunately, it seems the modern trend is to distill an issue down until it's personal enough to be offended by, rather than trying to accommodate the bigger picture.
this thread is ridiculous! I know your a cyclist Dutch but I expected much better from you. I'm with DJ here, it matters not how old you are or how long you've been a fan, only the level of support and commitment you've shown in that time. Stop being bellends.
I'm not sure that anyone should be questioning dj's City supporting credentials, I don't care how long he's been going, I see him at most away games and the only ones I don't see him at, are the ones I missed(due to circumstances, there's been more of those this season than for any other season over the past few years). Some may not understand what it was like piling of out of Cod and chasing people down Anlaby Road a few decades ago, but does that really make them less of a City fan? I'd suggest not.
It's not a case of being 'less of a fan'..... You can be as passionate as you want but the fact is that people who have seen City for four decades have a better perspective than those who are wet behind the years.
