"Kenny Dalglish has launched an impassioned defence of his record at Liverpool, claiming he should not be judged by the club's league position alone and that kit deals are as important as victories." (Source: The Guardian) Now, talk about desperation! At least when our legends - such as Hoddle and Ardillles - got the sack for being utter pants at managing and nearly ruining our club, they didn't bleat like little girls! I've got to say, that the Mousers really are paying a terrible price for their years and years of delusion. They must be wondering when the embarrassment will end; or, indeed, if it will ever end!
Desperate and deluded. Do you think anyone has read this article and actually though "you know what? You're right, I should judge you on the club as a whole"? If he's busy arranging kit deals, watching over the academy, ensuring that the urinals don't run out of lemon blocks and every other task that is needed to run a professional football club then I guess he doesn't have much time to spend with the first team. If that is the case then fair cop, I guess I can't judge him without inspecting all the facilities that LFC has to offer; but I can question the LFC business model that comprises of Owners / Manager (Jack of all Trades) / Players.
"club's league position alone and that kit deals are as important as victories" Now this is true for a club with limited budget who aims to maintain a club in the premiership mid table, possible 7th / 6th but not for a 'big club' or a club that wants to win the premiership. Anyway, the owners got a new sponsor not Kenny and the only reason they had to get a new sponsor is because the last sponsor wasn't happy with the lack of success
I'm not sure who to offer my support to over his second claim, that of Wenger being taken to task by the FA over his claims that Suarez dived. On the one hand, he actually did dive. On the other, Wenger's built his success on the back of similar diving arseholes. Best play it safe and just call them both a pair of hypocritical twats, eh?
Don't forget Henry. Best netball player I've ever seen in a football kit. Far, far better than Maradona.
Maradona was bad at it, just staggering that the ref didn't see it and send the cheating little git off (sorry Dona_mara)
Maradona did it once, Paul Scholes tried it repeatedly throughout his career. But nobody seemed to make much of it, of course...
The thing that gets me about the likes of Pires and Gerrard is how poor they are/were at diving, yet they still escaped punishment. Some players are very good at making it look like they've been fouled, so you can understand refs making mistakes, but they just seemed to flop to the ground with nobody near them, at times.
More a sign of the times than a sign of the KING. Sad that even he now has to play the game. This man will take Liverpool back to the very top and you can read my earlier posts to see this isn't just derby fever. To be fair though, you read what you wanted to read and saw what you wanted to see. His defence is clearly not for himself but for the club itself. He's playing the game and trying to deflect but you should be a journo to find the story "don't sack me I made us money" from that. Well played. I suggest you worry more about your own club who were nothing before and will be nothing again. You know what it took for you to go to ****? One player to say he wanted United above you (and who could blame him) and a manager to lie about the England job he's wanted his whole life. Arsenal still twatted you as well.
we've done better since that player went, than when he was with us,so you don't know what your talking about
I've bothered to read the whole link now, and KD does make one valid point. "If managers can't talk about other contracted managers and the England job, then you shouldn't be able to talk about actions of contracted players at another club either. It would put an end to tapping up.
