Mancini said that the derby will be the decider. Is this wishful thinking from Mancini? By the time of the derby if City's away form doesn't improve the gap could be bigger than 3 pts.
depends on cities 2 'big' matches If they drop points there not sure the decider will matter Having said that UTD will probably make it hard as per usual
I had a nightmare where Tevez scored the winning goal securing City the league aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.
I would not be confident to get a result at the Etihad. I would rather we were 4 points ahead by then and the result would not matter. They cold drop points at Arsenal. On their day the gunners could whip them...
4 points may not be enough though considering that we are away at Sunderland on the last game of the season. Although I would take a 4 point lead going into that game.
I would rather be four points ahead or one point behind than one or two points ahead come April the 30th. The worst scenario I can see is us going there having to get a draw to stay at the top, cos you can just guarantee we would throw it away then. If we need a win then we would probably be able to get one, but if we need a draw then anything could happen...
I think people are making far too much over City's away form. Last season we drew twice as many as we won and lost nearly as many as we won away from home.
True, but last year we finished with 80 points. Ain't no way that'll be good enough this season. City have five away games left, and have picked up only eight points out of their last eight. If they keep that away form up till the end of the season then they will practically gift us the title.
These things are obviously difficult to predict but on current form I can see City losing at least 4 points (all away) and United losing 3 (away at city). The bookies odds seem about right (no surprise there!)
Probably the first season ever - but every single person I know who follows football wants Utd to win the league this year.
I'd take United having any sort of advantage come the derby. If by any bad luck, they were behind in the league, United is bound to be gung-ho in attack and concede a lot. If they were at the top of the table, then I don't see why they can't see it out, just like last year against Chelsea, Chicharito will get us a goal in seconds and....
I think if city win it this year we will go on and win it again next year, but the psychological damage not winning it this year may well benefit you next year Ferguson is the real problem for us,if he had our squad the trophy would already be engraved and Fred Done wouldve paid out by now Big problem for whoever has to follow him, impossible job and initially doomed to failure unless you are very lucky What other manager would have kept up with us with your threadbare squad? As much as I detest the man,you can't help but respect him
Is our squad that threadbare? We''ve had a lot of injuries this season but have usually found a player to slot in. They may not be world beaters but there are a lot of more than competent players in our squad who, as you say, are made even better by the influence of Fergie. Every time Kompany is unavailable your defence goes to pieces. I think a decent back up centre half or two will be the first signings the City manager will make at the end of the season.
I'm not sure the derby will be the decider, our run of games looks "easier" going up to the derby, if we have a 4 point lead when the game takes place the result won't matter as much. If its closer than that and were only 1 point in front i really don't want us to go there looking for a draw, their will be only one outcome. Obviously it won't be easy, but with the experience we have at closing out title runs, i really believe we will be taking the title back to Old Trafford. Citys inexperience will cost them.
