Nowt to dislike about the fella...

Ten years tomorrow at Everton......Still got years ahead of him at the top....

Well done, still hope we piss on your parade at the weekend though...

    ................................................................................................

David Moyes will have related to the plight of a young manager wrestling to imprint his philosophy on a dressing room populated with experienced and powerful personalities as Andre Villas-Boas was sacked by Chelsea.

Moyes faced the same dilemma when he walked into Everton's Bellefield training headquarters a decade ago - just hours after owner Bill Kenwright took him from the Championship and Preston North End to a battle for Premier League survival.

While 34-year-old Villas-Boas failed to last 10 months at Chelsea, Moyes - four years older when he arrived at Goodison Park - is celebrating 10 years in charge and his stock as a managerial commodity has rarely been higher.

There is only one chance to make a first impression and Moyes was inheriting a squad from Walter Smith that contained senior figures such as Duncan Ferguson, David Weir, Kevin Campbell, Alan Stubbs, David Unsworth, Thomas Gravesen - plus the maverick and soon-to-be-elsewhere talents of David Ginola and Paul Gascoigne.

I think if Arry takes the London/Manchester national job Moyes will take over at Spurs. If he does well at Spurs I think Sir Alex will hand pick him for the Man Utd job.

Wouldn't like Moyes to take the Chelsea job, don't think his face would fit and he'd suffer the same fate as AVB

The second best manager in the EPL.

If we didn't have wor Marty, THis is the man I'd pick. Mind you, so would every other clubs fans and I include the reds of Liverpool as well.

Top bloke who you just can't dislike or wish ill upon. I'd like to see him win the Cup if we don't this year.

You all say he's a brilliant manager and I agree for the things he has done here but he doesn't have make colossil **** ups tactically. But I suppose thats just one of the things you only notice as a fan of the club.

neville for Cahill at half time away to Wigan stands out recently leaving us with 3 Defensive midfielders on the pitch at 0-0

His strength seems to be that he gets every player in the shirt pulling for it.

Similar to MON here, where the players are giving more on an average week than they were giving on a good week under Bruce.

Funny thing though, nobody has actually tried to take him from Everton, despite much speculation.

    I find this bizarre.

Who would take him? He probably wouldn't go abroad, Villa have supposedly tried but he laughed it off (as did we) (Why go to a side which are almost a mirror of ourselves most years), I doubt he'd go to a lesser team so to speak. So that leaves...

Man utd - obviously not yet
Man city - He'd have been a better acquisition than sparky, but wouldn't happen now + city fans hate us
Arsenal - Wenger not going to leave/get sacked
Chelsea - Abramovic doesn't do british managers
    Liverpool - lol
spurs - When harry took over they were worse than us

So there aren't really to many options.

    Pretty fair like.

I guess the most likely clubs would be ourselves or the Toon, but it's still a sidestep, other than a wee bit more financial freedom.

To be fair to Everton, there one of a few clubs who have some claim on that.

    They're honours roll is mommouth.

I always respected and admired Sir Bobby Robson even when he was managing the skunks.

I would say Everton are a top 6-7 side consistently for as long as I remember. I know they have had a few indifferent years but we should be aspiring to it. If we can get up to their stands Monsmush is right we are in for a great time!

Only Arsenal and Everton never been relegated from the top flight? Think that's correct.

We've been up and down more times than a $20 whore in the last 30 years.

We still have while to go imo to emulate Everton but they are a benchmark for success for sure for us.
