A well written piece which sums up most people's attitude to the final whistle shenanigans on Sunday afternoon http://www.carrowroad.net/cnews/index.php?post=why-the-boos Nothing further to add, really!
would it be slightly perverse to boo the boo boys, cos thats what i want to do! honestly, what do these people want from their football team?!?!?!?!?!?!
As you say, sums things up perfectly. If you had seen the texts that my Boss was sending me on Sunday, "Crap Scottish Management", "Holt can F*ck off to Rangers" and that's just the tip of the iceberg ! It scares me that Lambert might walk because of bloody ignorant comments and booing, Makes my blood boil
tyhis story is being over done and these plonkers are getting far more consideration than they are worth 99% of the fans at Carrow Road are very very happy with the team , you cant control the other 1% of morons, but you can chose to ignore them
I think PL is pragmatic to know this is part of the game. Did he bring it up or just responding to a stupid question. I was at Old Trafford two seasons ago and because they were losing to Sunderland, the crowd was riotous. Poor old Wellbeck, being played out of position, was getting verbal death threats! And all those supporters would have nothing to moan about if ManU never won another trophy.
lets face it, if lambert moved to say, aston villa, his team would get booed off every week, such is the ludicrous level of expectation at villa park. generally i think our fans are very good but the achilles heel is when we are favourites for a match - people turn up thinking we'll win easily. when we are underdogs, as is often the case in the premier league, everyone pulls in the same direction
Brilliant comment Supersand let's hope the fans take heed for when Wolves grace the Carroww Road turf. Somehow can't see any problems with the remaining home games after that game, as we'll be the 'underdog' in the remaining matches in this season.
Got to be - an a away draw at the bin-dippers plus they just lost to Sunderalnd who we beat at home ergo we are favourites to be beat them.
I dont think the boos would really worry Lambert too much! he has played in Rangers v Celtic Derby games!! Im sure he has got worse abuse than a few old berks who think they are football wikipidias! Its gonna happen at every club at some point. Some fans always want to be world beaters and dont look at the bigger picture. I have never and would never boo norwich, even when we were at our lowest.
There were lots of grumbles on Sunday, mainly borne out of frustration from the lack of width in the team and the fact that the midfield was largely ineffective. We were second best for most of the game and this was against the pre-match expectations that we would "walk it". I go to the games with my cousin who had texted me the night before saying he expected a 3-0 victory and a lot of the scores on the prediction league said the same (that we would win comfortably) . The fact that Wigan came out fighting, didn't roll over and were superior to us said more about them than us - they showed more conviction and spirit (usually two of our biggest assets) and appeared to want it more. I like many around me was relieved when the final whistle went and considered we had got away with winning a point we didn't deserve and went "phew" ! The boo-boys have no place at CR and show they know nothing about the game - if they did they would have recognised the courage, conviction, spirit and skill of Wigan's performance and would have been thankful for a hard-earned, undeserved point that moves us one point closer to safety. OTBC !
I was sitting in the Jarrold and didnt hear any boo's ( I am glad to say) but I do wonder if the booing might have been directed to the ref, I thought he had a shocker. Especially the last kick when Drury or Bennett got pushed off the ball and they got the free kick for off side, that was the last straw for me. just wondering cos if people are booing the team they need a check up from the neck up (as Lee Evans would say)
it definitely wasn't directed at the ref as it happened immediately after the final whistle. very difficult to gauge the numbers - maybe 200 at a guess? there were one or two boos as the ref left the field, not that i thought he did a lot wrong to be honest. he gave a few weird decisions but no more than any other ref has this season and he didn't have any major decisions to make apart from the handball from holt's shot, which was a clear handball but not sure how the defender could have got out of the way, so no penalty for me!
