Will be going to Cheltenham Festival which starts today. The players don't have a midweek match so maybe they will get a chance to go to the races. Do you think any of the lads would pick a horse because of its name and how it would describe them? Can you spot any obvious ones? And will you also be having a flutter today? And what on?
A very craftily constructed post! Mildly saintly. I don't bet on the horses as I don't risk my money on a sport which is so open to corruption. I prefer to visit a casino every 6 months or so where at least I understand the probabilities. Do they have a horse running called, "she'll be wearing striped pyjamas?" might be worth an each way bet!
3.40 Cheltenham - Overturn. Describing how saints have regained their rightful place as the biggest on the South Coast.
Hang on? Going to the races? No, they have to be at the Gym or the training ground. Plenty of time for all that when we have been promoted. Althoug knowing Nigel, he might have them there running against the horses. My money would be on De Ridder in the 2.30.
As Alan Pardew once famously said: "Southampton are a racehorse that doesn't like mud". Fortunately the going at Cheltenham is good to soft, so our boys would probably be OK.
Why are you so desperate to make a thread on horse racing that won't be closed within a few minutes. Apart from American Football, it is the world's ****test sport imo. It's so boring to watch. The only people who are really interested in it are the rich people like Ferguson and Michael Owen who own racehorses or people addicted to gambling. I am more interested in talking about football.
I think it was after us getting narrowly beaten at somewhere like Tranmere on a pitch that was barely playable. Just looked up the Tranmere game which was almost exactly 2 years ago. Seems like a different century, amazing.
