I have to say that we lost not too a good Liverpool team but to an average one. There was nothing about them that made me think they were good. They packed the mid field and relied on the big ex nu fool to get onto the long ball. If we had been on song and our team ready to go we would have run out winners easily.

It is always the same for us when we take a break. Our players loose the edge and become sloppy. They need to be given a lesson in how to return after the break, how to turn the desire of the fans into the work they produce. I know they have played games away over the past few weeks but it seemed like an eternity since the last home game and while the fire was in the bellies of the fans it just wasn't in the players.

I am learning how to ignore the bias shown by referee's and commentators alike towards anyone we play. It becomes common place and to be honest if one or two results had gone our way getting into European fixtures would drag our boys down with the current ability and fitness. True our team is getting better but we are not at the level to compete in Europe and the Premiership at the same time. Once the younger team members build up the body muscle and learn the techniques from our recent acquisitions we may stand a chance.

But once again I will say, Liverpool were not good, at best they were average.

If they were average what does that make us?

They thoroughly deserved the 3 points as they had 2 or 3 other good goal scoring opportunities, unlike our measly 3 shots.

Amazing how Gyan never even had a shot.

You would think we would be right up for this game after not playing for 2 weeks and Liverpool having played in Europe but no, once again the 2 weeks break kills us for some reason.

Roll on Man City in 2 weeks! haha

The ref and linesman made sure that we had absolutely no chance of winning yesterday....Is it any wonder that the players heads dropped...

Liverpool were average at best which makes us ****e to put it bluntly, we made them look better than what they actually are.

Couldn't agree more with you. We were bad, helped out by the ref, the falling over and the second string referees (11) wearing Liverpool shirts.

My theory on Liverpool players falling over stems from the days Liverpool had Heskey. Every time someone knocked the telly he used to fall over. Seems like it has been passed down to the current team now

I thought their defence looked pretty solid, never gave us much of a chance.

IIRC the first shot on target was Catss in the last 15 mins.
After the stupid ref and lino gave them a penalty and following two players going off injure, heads went down. We were bright in the first 20 and Rico had a chance but failed even to connect after a good passage of play by us.

Ming the magnificent had to make a couple of saves but I cannot recall their keep having to make one save.
So for me 'heads going down' and not creating chances is very worrying. That and bad run we are having with refs, the ref cost us points at Stoke and if they had not got the pen, I'm not sure how it would have played out.

Certainly Welbeck and Gyan were OK but we lacked creativity and Gyan on his on is not getting any shots or chances created for him

TBH I am worried, if we lose to Citeh then that is 1 point from 21 and the dreaded looms!

Heskey never did it on purpose, though! I agree that Liverpool were average. I would call our display pitiful. A mention for Spearing - wouldn't mind having him in the squad.
