I have a player who picked up 19 yellows in a year...15 in England, which resulted in six games suspended, and 4 in CL, which resulted in another game missed. The weirdest part? He's a striker with 8 aggression who doesn't argue with the officials, and his positional instructions set tackling to easy. But he just will not stop fouling people.
I have decided to have a break from Football Manager for a while as I played it too much and have got bored of it a bit. Going back to the Ps3 for a while ready for Fifa Streets.
Well you can issue warnings and fine players, change tackling and closing down settings in team/ player instructions, and I believe there are some options regarding tackling in the preferred move training. This could be because the fouls aren't deliberate, rather mistimed due to poor positioning/ anticipation or something like that. There are plenty of possible factors; for example if a centre-back has low acceleration and you give him the "cover" duty, he will often foul pacey strikers as he fails to keep up with them.
I did all the pre season work loads your meant to do and i have now put him on light training i will see what that does
Poyet said 'He doesn't enjoy the way Southampton play their football' I love how realistic this game is!
Just started again with Saints (updated) so no striker shortage! Won 6-0 and 6-2 in my first 2 friendlies.
I'm going to be starting a FM series on YouTube... Id love your input on the team I should choose.. Nations to choose from.. England.. Lower league Spanish or German teams and Italy too
In 2020, won 4 trophies, the league and broke 100 points in doing so last season with Saints, the game gets too easy after a while. I am tempted to just keep going for as long as possible till the new game comes out, although may try a different challenge as it does get boring just winning every match now.
It would bew great if you could throw personal jibes at managers like Clotterill and Poyet to make things interesting and ratchet up the rivalry.
Thought I'd look to see where the young 'uns ended up now that I'm ten years in. Have to admit that I sold them all fairly early to raise the funds necessary for my eventual world domination. JWP - Has never really established himself...sold to Norwich and bounced around a bit, in the reserves for a mid-table Birmingham side. Shaw - Didn't develop at all. Sold to Newcastle, spend several years on loan to League 1 and 2 sides, now a backup with Barnet in the Championship (Barnet is in the Championship!?). Sinclair - Sold to Werder Bremen, managed all of four games there over several years. Now in Dunfermline's reserves. Stephens - Fixture with Newcastle, has five caps at age 26.
In mine JWP is class, only 19 (been playing him since the begining). He is now in the senior England team, and just rejected a 20mil bid.
Never go on 2 months holiday out of boredom. My useless assistant manager lost all but one of my games and dropped my beautifully-crafted Deportivo team from 4th to 13th. I have it autosaving daily. Don't want to play anymore.
