Everyone is climbing on a bandwagon again. Is Goetze a promising young player? - yes. Is he the best player in the world, already better than most players we have at every position? - No that is stupid. However, when a herd of sheep start Baaing they all sound intelligent - to each other. For God's sake, the boy isn't even a regular in the BD team.
That is what you said. I am saying rubbish because Goetze has a better first touch and doesn't seemingly lose the ball as often as Walcott. So it would be an improvement on Walcott. I didn't say anything about him being the next best thing or amazing. I'd prefer Hazard to Goetze personally. But Walcott's first touch and passing is poor so its not difficult to better it.
He has been subbed virtually every game this season. He has played only 6 full games all season, and has received very erratic reviews of his performances. I realize that everybody is down on Walcott, because that is popular, but Goetz doesn't have Walcott's pace. His first touch is probably better because he never takes the ball at the speed Walcott does. But we will never really know if his first touch is better because he will never go as fast as Walcott does to find out. The guy is 19 and nowhere near as far along as Walcott. If you berate Walcott for consistency then you must think Goetz is even worse because he has been terrible at times this year, just as he has been brilliant at times. I don't want to get too down on the chap because he is a very good player and a prospect. But saying he is better winger than Walcott, when he doesn't even play the position is ****ing stupid. And Walcott's first touch is nowhere near as bad as you make out. These pronouncements that are made are ridiculous. Walcott's touch is worse when he is taking the ball at speed. I've seek him pull balls down out of the air and beat people with his first touch all the time. On top of that, he such a threat, that he nearly always has a defender on top of him all the time. If Walcott's first touch was bad, he wouldn't be playing for Arsenal.
'If Walcott's first touch was bad, he wouldn't be playing for Arsenal. ' ??? Bendtner was played umpteen times - and his touch NEVER got any better,.
You mean he's been injured for a few months? He IS in fact a regular and has been for two years. He's better than you think.
You can't sign Goatze, as I will have images of Goatse (google image search if you don't know what it is) in my head whenever I hear his name
I'm not sure you know how good I think he is. But, all I am saying is this cycle of over-hype, slam, over-hype, slam has to be broken. It's crazy.
This cycle of thinking we are better than we are, crash wallop season end in March - with no trophy - needs to be broken
Absolutely! We need to be proactive this summer. Keeping RVP is imperative. We need signings to convince him to stay as well as make needed improvements to our squad. If we lost him and replaced him with Poldolski but didn't make any more significant changes it would be a step backwards and we would have another painful season punctuated with humiliation. There are glaring deficiencies in our squad that need addressing. Even when fully fit, our bench is far from inspiring. A hungry, talented bench is needed, not that shower of de-motivated, overpaid ne'er -do-wells that makes up much of our squad at the moment. We really need to kick on and sign some big names and we could really mix it with the best.
