I agree in part NJ but ivor's right. Everyone's gushing about Moore and whereas he took his goal really well there's something not quite right about him. I was a massive Scotland fan and could never understand those that weren't. His goals were enough for me. All 50 odd of 'em. Moore has a long way to go to win me over even though I'm prepared to see the light. Why has he only recently moved here? Like I said, something not right with his head - and it often shows on the pitch. You say "i beleive every swans player that goes on the field tries his hardest and gives 100%" but quite a lot of posters really don't believe that when it comes to Moore judging by past appearances. That said, one of the things that good managers do is help talented players reach their full potential. Look at MON at Sunderland. I think Rodgers has his favourites and Moore is one of them. If he can help this player, who undoubtedly has talent, get his head right then great. The player and the team he plays for will benefit. Nothing wrong with that head yesterday, that's for sure. [Edit: Btw, his goal v Bolton in the cup showed us what he can do. Didn't think he had that in his locker. Develop some consistency and he'll win us all over I'm sure.]
I've been a big fan of Moore since the Fulham game , played his heart out . His only other start was against the Spurs & he didn't fare to bad there either . A cool & classy header yesterday , made it look a lot easier than it was , his body positioning before contact was perfect
KJ- he was living near the area until recently but has now moved into the heart of swansea according to buck, that probably helps him feel a part of things, maybe a lack of confidence was the reason he didnt want to immerse himself in to the club from the start ?? He seems the type that thrives on an arm around him and not a bollocking, maybe if he had more support from the sceptical fans he would run harder ?? maybe not? Remember Steve Torpey when he first came here? absolute crap, he was so bad it was funny the ironic cheers turned to support and as he progressed he grew in stature and gained more support from the North bank, a classic slow burner was steve Torpey !! Luke Moore may never be a 30 goal a season player but he can be a very important part of our club, getting the odd goal from the bench puts pressure on DG to perform and thats how it should be, in fairness to Moore he hasnt really done anything wrong since he 's been here, he like others have had to learn how to play in our system, which people also forgot about routledge when he was getting slaughtered!! it takes different players different amounts of time to learn these things. Im not going to say he is the best thing since sliced bread, DG has rightly earned number1 status so far, but i think im right in saying that alot of swans fans decide they love or hate somebody in the first few games of their career and never like to give these boys credit when they put in a performance or progress after a sometimes difficult start. Moving to a new job,new area, new system and working with differnt people can be a very big up heavel for some, Luke didnt have a fantastic start and score loads of goals in his first couple of games,(i remember him getting crap service and not knowing the system too well)and didnt kiss the badge enough, as he was settling into the team Fabio Borini came in and did really well, then left to star in the Italian top flight for a top 6 club, DG arrived a few months later carrying the tag of most expensive swans player ever!! so its not been easy for the boy in fairness!! He was cut zero slack from the terraces so well done him for sticking in there
Not according to Luke Moore, Crackerjack. "It just hit me, I don't score many headers, so I will take anything, but I will have to say thanks to Wayne," said Moore. http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/S...-Routledge-s/story-15496588-detail/story.html
In that in part tells alot more about the player than most realise. Rodgers said(and i beleive him) that Luke is very good in the air
It was some header. It looked easy, but to arch like that and get it beyond Hart's reach makes me think he's a damn sight better in the air than he makes out.
I agree with that, JA. The cross wasn't perfect and Moore instinctively readjusted. Most talented players act naturally and I don't believe for one second that it 'just hit' him, even if he does. I agree with you NJ, lots of fans make their mind up and aren't prepared to be won over. I'd like to think they're in the minority. Although Scotland had a decent welcome from most fans last season when the Tractor Boys played us here I could definitely hear boos around me too. Pathetic.
Pathetic is the right word KJ, i loved the likes of Trundle and was all for having back when scotland went but the amount of sunshine that the east stand blew up his arse tended to make me a bit sick sometimes, Jason scotland was twice the player trundle was in the ccc but for some reason had half the love, probably because he didnt kiss the badge!
I thought that the interviews from BR on LM and his own comments were very positive and mde me proud to be a Jack
