Have heard that Jason Pearce could be signing for us on loan from the blue few, apparently lives in Eastleigh and doesn't want to leave the south coast, has since deleted his twitter account and it's been clear that he may well be the next one to go. Also heard that the striker Appleton was talking about is indeed Jonathan Forte as part of the deal, presumably we would cover his wages (though can't be much?). thoughts?
I can imagine him running round our whole team, getting it around Davis and then blasting it at row KK...
What are the terms of Jonno's loan to Notts County? I would have thought he might want to stick with them as they're in the playoffs at the moment, rather than jump on to a sinking ship.
On the other hand, a guaranteed start in the Championship with 11 games to impress potential championship clubs in the summer?
Jonno's loan is until the end of the season. http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10426~2589796,00.html. So I'm not sure where that stands. I can't imagine Pearce being amongst the highest earners at Pompey though.
hope this isnt true, pearce would only be cover, and why we would send a striker to them in the hour of need is a joke. let them die
Apparently he is on 10k a week, to high for pompey. They can't get rid of their major earners, so they have to get rid off whoever is wanted.
Can't see why we would break an agreement with one club in order to get a loan in with only 10 games to go.
I doubt it personally, especially if Forte is part of the deal - hard for him if contracted to Notts County untill May
As far as I can remember it can't happen as the football league limit is to play for 3 clubs in one season, he has already played for us, Preston and Notts County so Pompey would be numero 4. Just to wind them lot up I would love to take Pearce on board.
Hmm, perhaps Forte isn't part of the deal then... Pearce would still be a good backup signing and all we'd pay is his wages, with the option to sign him as a back up player... good young english talent, and Pompey would get more off their wage bill, win win.
My Pompey friend went to the game at the weekend when he was in tears at the final whistle and threw his shirt to the crowd. He says he is a cut above - future England potential but hasnt heard anything about where he is going - but he is Pompey through and through aparently... Good if this comes true but im not convinced to say the least.
