I do - but in my defence I supported SD up to the point when he appeared to be taking no advice from others and was not using the talented youngsters we had - I believe he did actually change and I have to say I am very pleased he did.
I don't. I always maintained that the long term work he was doing was good, but that some of his matchday decisions were bizarre. I still hold that view. I also said that I felt he had four games to save his job, and I maintain that he did. We were on a terrible run and I think he would have been sacked if he hadn't turned it round. Never said that he should have been fired, merely that he was probably going to be.
same as Leo although I still feel he would have come good sooner had he had a decent burkinshaw mentor that Aidy enjoyed ! he didnt fair play to him through good judgement and sometimes good luck ,he has turned it round and for that he deserves all the plaudits . I maintain this season I have seen some of the worst watford performances I have ever seen , However with what we had or what we were using , we were hardly going to be playing free flowing football! SD has instilled a mental steel that the side needed and heaps of applause for that ,Hopefully with some more backing from Baz he and WFC can push on and hopefully play a more attractive style next season ! His remit was to keep us up and that is pretty much job done a win against cov I think seals it to SD
As said all along over a season to be judged not a couple of games. I think we've got it right given te resources at our disposal idea being to get to January before starting to use the younger talent more. We were missing the creative midfield, and wide players. Getting permanent developing players in these positions will be key to the next season along with the goal keeping area solution, its not the shot stopping thats the problem but the structure of the defensive unit key word being unit.
I take a long term view on football managers - SD has struggled at times and has made mistakes, but he keeps going and seems to learn from them, so I am more than happy.
