most of the fans who could ensure a good atmosphere and start a song have been banned following Oxford, Mansfield, Huddersfield and Millwall, to name but 4 games. I put the Cooperian Morgue atmosphere firmly on the shoulders of its namesake, the club and more than any other, the OB.
In what year was the first Tiger suit spotted? 2008? Don't recall any face paint or silly student Tiger costumes at BP- it would not have been tolerated. New fans are the lifeblood of our great club but some younger ones need to understand what they are buying into. It's not some camp pastime- you can know people who support other clubs, have workmates from other parts of the countries, but you cannot have mates who support other clubs who come from Hull. For me that's the litmus test. A true City fan understands this instinctively. Splutter and protest all you want - deep down you know it's true.
anybody that moans about anything is a new fan apparently ive learnt using boards like this over the last few years, i get the impression sometimes if your not grateful we arent 92nd in the footballing pyramid anymore, and dare to be annoyed or frustrated. then your just a plastic glory supporter.... even tho in my view thats complete and utter balls , things evolve, times change and people who where there watching that ****e back then can still hope for more.
Supporting a football team now is nothing like it was in the 70's or 80's, but that's the way it is, it's not going to change back again and the more fans the club has, the better it is for the club, so it makes no difference to me how long anyone has been going, or that they don't understand what it was all about back in the day. Though if I never saw another tiger suit again, I'd be a happy man.
So I must be a "new fan" then. I only started to attend matches in the promotion season on any sort of regular basis. I retired from actively being involved every weekend in sport, that same season. I never needed a season ticket before that as I always had comps and even then I could always get a ticket if needed. I posted for the first time on HDM in Feb 2008 and from time to time I went on 606. This NEW fan tag is pathetic. My home game spend is never less than £100 often nearer £200, it would be cheaper for me to be an away game only supporter. OLM knows the lengths that I have been prepared to go, to ensure a future for the club. Who are you to beleive that my support has any less worth? We only got 17 odd thousand last Saturday, who will fill the seats when we go back up? Instead of a snide dig, its about time some on here got off their high horses and welcomed fresh money into the club. Oh and by the way, I lost every penny that I had in 2009, I had to break my balls just to be able to get to a match, so dont think that it was ever easy. But there again I'm a new fan, who gives a **** eh!
People like Tickler and mussie remind me of scrawny indie kids who have a paddy because their favourite band has become "mainstream".
CI was best when you had the multi board rivalry when SKY had ran the show (think it was SKY) they pulled the plug and every league club went there own way. Since then CI has been pretty poor, reliability issues and readability from smart phones. Shocking.
I don't know about newer fans but there are certainly fewer fans. We had the 4th lowest gate this w/e. where as city were in the top 5 a few months ago, the lack of goals are making people lose interest me thinks.
That's bullshit. Face paint, replica kits, tiger suits. Not my thing, but each to their own. They're all relatively new, doesn't mean that they should be any less welcome. If the club I support makes more money, to be more successful, then frankly I couldn't give 2 ****s if the wearing of tiger suits is made compulsory. I don't think we fair too badly for face painters or flag wavers, but seriously, if that's top of someone's agenda then they need to have a word with themselves. We're not throw backs to the 60s anymore!
If there were ever any away fans in attendance we'd do ok. Most teams only bring a taxi load of fans, bar Leicester, Derby, Blackpool, Leeds, West Ham. Hopefully Barnsley, Forest, Boro & Southampton bring a fair few.
I must be a plastic fan, because iv'e only been using this board for a year. That is if being on this board is what qualifies you as a proper hard core fan.Rather than actually going to support for the last 40 years
This is our own one as far as I'm concerned, I like the banter with other fans on here and things like that, thats why I've only ever used this site and 606, also it's far better set-out with a more diverse range of fans.
