Pomposity at its best! If the club had gone under they would have been screwed any way! I suggest that they get themselves a new business model if they are heavily reliant on just one source of income. Most local businesses were asked to accept 5p in te pound under the CVA. The town needs the club to survive for all sorts of reasons and to accuse all Ipswich fans of not caring about it is just plain ridiculous and shows proper ignorance from a yellow tinted Budgie! Our club is part of the Marcus Evans group of companies and any losses can be offset against Tax and other parts of the group.
wow. warky. thats one aggressive post. i think some of you lot are coming across as obnoxious a bit like your owner i suspect... meanwhile, we are all like our owner - drunk and happy
i notice you didn't disagree about your debt level. funny that - not one person has said its wrong...
by the way, an idiot can see that a business reliant on one sole income would be a disaster waiting to happen. however, when a major income source gets removed it does cause problems which eventually mean its crippled. i'm amazed that you aren't even the slightest bit embarrassed (at least) that your club did what it did
never a more true statement JWM, What supers and his ****wit friends don't realise is that if the club went under more than just a couple of business would have gone under with it. and as you quite rightly said, any business that is so reliant on 1 source of income is a business waiting to go bust. I like the way they slag us of about talking History, yet they are more than happy talking history and something that has 0.000000001% chance of happening as the gospel that it will. They are truly priceless.
so how come my own club, when faced with administration in 1995, managed to pay all its creditors and survive? oh yes, thats right, norwich city didn't do what ipswich town did - they wanted to do things correctly and not get 'bailed out'. we paid the penalty as a club for a decade or more - you just waltzed on as if nothing had happened.
does anyone at all from south of the border wish to prove that their debt level is not £66m? i'm getting very impatient here
I am struggling to understand how Ipswich have failed to learn from their previous administration. Their debt level is akin to Rangers who are a huge club with a massive following playing European football every season not a reasonably sized provincial club. Just to clarify I am in no way implying the financial malpracitces of Rangers are mirrored in Ipswich but regardless of the path travelled down both clubs are in a very similar scary position. Let us not forget how close we were to the brink recently and how our finances have been bolstered by loyal owners digging deep, gritting their teeth and carrying on and by our rise to the PL. Without these two factors and our loyal supporters turinng out week in week out even in Div 1 our debts could have spiraled out of control just as Ipswich's could do. I don't know when they have to refinance but you can bet your bottom dollar that the price of their debt will rise noticably as the risk associated with it is also higher and this is not being helped by the banks seeing similar businesses such as Portsmouth/Port Vale etc failing and their potnetially having to write off huge sums. I am amazed that local businesses will still trade with ITFC as no doubt they will be shafted as and when the administrators come in again. Cynically I would not be surprised if they got to a point where they were safe and then pulled the plug and tried to restart afresh in 2012/13 without the risk of a points deduction. I genuinely have no desire to see Ipswich fold or go into admin but I do think that unless they get back to the PL (which would be great as long as we are still in situ) it is a question of sooner rather than later - the likes of Rangers will always find a mad American or Arab Prince with deep pockets to ensure their survival but clubs the size of ours do not have this luxury. If Ipswich fans are not worried then that is up to them but just because you don't worry about being in a room with a hungry lion doesn't mean it's a vegatarian
I've read this three times now, and not only does it not seem to be relevant to the post it comments on, it doesn't seem to actually make any grammatical sense. What would you call it? Are you trying to call it banter? or a communist forum? Is that meant to be a full stop after for, and before the capital I? There's definitely a message in there but its all over the place. You write like Picasso! Also are you sure you mean closed shop communism? What do you mean by that phrase? Seems like fascist might be a better fit.
for ****s sake get off your high horse will you, the number of businesses that would have gone under would have increased 10 fold! how would that help anybody! Secondly, this thread was about you're blip in form and how Lambchop is now getting things wrong tactically. i.e. The bubble has burst. No matter how much deflection of the real issue is getting away from that.
Look, when Ipswich can justify that they deserve a place in the premier league, their ultimate goal(although it's somehow crap now we're in it?? Guru seems to want Ipswich to get promoted into la liga) then I'll concede Till then your just another poorly run minnow with a dubious financial backer, your another QPR effectively and the prem has got enough of them I reckon.
No no Guru. This is all about you now. Lets talk through your troubles. I must confess i didn't realise how dangerously close you guys are to doing a Portsmouth. It makes your terrible start to the season all the more worrying, if getting promoted is the only way out of your current predicament. Looks like next year is make or break for you now. Good luck, i hate to see a historic club being dismantled by the administrators.
You are once again being economical with reports supers, we are far from being the next portsmouth and i would be surprised as there are clubs with bigger debts than us. Which of course you would forget to mention!
