Yes, swap Green if he doesn't pull his finger out. But I am willing to give him another chance. I'll let CP know what he needs to do for Scunny. P.S) Counterintuitive? Moi? I am never wrong. NEVER!
Whats most disappointing for me is that if and when the season/promotion is 'wrapped up', that it seems or is even viewed as standard that players/team would take the foot off the gas. I'd like to think that even if today the whole title was wrapped up, that the men wearing the CAFC shirt would play the remaining 10 or so games with just as much ability and passion. I guess my point is, i dont actually subscribe to the theory that a team will clock off. I am hoping it is just a little leg weary, team rotation theory. If we bounce back with an away win over a recently solid scunny i will be delighted.
CP wont change the team v Scunts - after all, we have a record breaking season away- he will let the current crop try to redeem themselves - we all know he likes continuity - thats also part of his management style. If it doesnt work, then see changes v Yeovil.
Yep I remember him saying this. Let's see. Somehow when you play the same team every week barring injuries it seems a much bigger deal to drop someone, whereas if there was an element of rotation it would not seem such a big deal. It seems to me CP wants to play his 11 best players every game, and it will be difficult to change this habit.
I agree. The more I think about it, the less likeley I think it is that he'll make changes.. He really has two big issues: Hamer and whether to back him yet again or make a change and Wagstaff. Despite my thoughts on the relative merits of Waggy and Green, I freely admit that Waggy posed a question on Saturday that CP will need to answer one way or the other. The other stuff about resting Jacko and shaking up the midfield I suspect is for the birds - CP just has a blind spot about this and he will not change it unless there is an injury. Jacko and Hollands look knackered but I don't think they will be dropped unless there is a real injury problem.
After he had lost about 10 games in a row, didn't Pardew say "from now on, I'm going to just play my best team" ?
If you don't rotate slightly, then you run the risk that the understudies aren't deemed ''match fit'', or not as sharp as could be. An example being Evina.. when he played it was said by many that he didn't look up to scratch and his fitness was poor.
RE Hamer. Drop him now (like he's dropped his bottle and everything that comes his way) - just like Fergie did with De Gea at United. Then when Sullivan has a wobble (won't be long) let him come roaring back. If you never drop your top keeper he'll think it doesn't matter how badly he plays.
This is a good example. Evina doesn't look the player he was at the beginning of the season. There were opportunities to play him LM when JJ was injured but that loanee from QPR got the nod unfortunately.
So what's happened lads is your season over now, or are you going to make a last ditch effort to wrap up that title? I can hear slight rumblings (Powell Out, maybe ) or was that just something to do with what I eat earlier
I heard that people in Gillingham eat cuddly puppy dogs and fluffy little kittens? Not at the same time mind you Is that true Blue?
