I don't think anyone's suggesting that this guy is indicative of the coalitions forces. If he was mentally unstable, possibly the US army should've identified that in psychological tests before he was given a gun. Although we can speculate that this one guy went aff his heid, you can bet that the Afghans mostly don't see it like that. Basically, a member of a force identified as an occupying force by the natives has slaughtered women and children while laughing about it. The only thing the Afghans will feel about this is utter utter beel. This guy has to be dealt with or the Afghans will go proper tonto and you can't really blame them.
Err, they are there representing their country and Army. Whatever they do reflects on them. What part of that do you not understand? If you send people to other countries armed to the teeth trained to kill then this is what happens. As far as I know the IRA didn't invade any countries though.
Does the US army partake in any training in the UK? The UK helped train Col Gaddafis forces, are the UK responsible for their actions?
Correct. The Afghans won't give a damn if this guy went tonto. Like I said earlier in the thread, if he's handed over to them then it's heid hacked off with a blunt pocket knife and video shown on Al Jazeera and released to the internet.
I love how you claim i don't understand then end it with "As far as I know the IRA didn't invade any countries though" in all seriousness Kieran who the **** is talking about invading countries we are talking about a massacre something both sides of your lot know plenty about. What a complete and utter ****ing political like bullet dodge you just pulled. So much so that i refuse to continue speaking about this with you because clearly like i point out earlier you have a very ****ing biased view on it. Good day to you sir.
Bib you will always get nutters who slip through the net, I knew a guy in Northern Ireland who went on a shooting spree in the Maze prison and shot one of my mates. I'm not making any excuses for this guy but who knows what he's been though, with the best counselling in the world and the best of psychlogical tests there is always a chance of a random nutter, especially in the military.
NATO is in Afghanistan at the express wish of the democratically elected government of Afghanistan and is widely supported by the Afghan population. The Bonn Agreement of 5 December 2001 requested the United Nations to authorise the development of a security force to assist in maintaining security in Kabul and its surrounding areas. On 20 December 2001, the UN Security Council approved the first resolution authorizing the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). At the NATO Lisbon Summit in November 2010, NATO and Afghanistan reaffirmed their long-term ties with the signing of a Declaration on Enduring Partnership . The document, which marks NATO’s continued commitment to Afghanistan, provides a political framework for future enhanced cooperation, particularly in the field of Afghan National Security Forces capacity-building and Security Sector Reform.

John R. Allen, released the following statement today: "I was shocked and saddened to hear of the shooting incident today in Kandahar Province. I offer my profound regret and deepest condolences to the victims and their families. I pledge to all the noble people of Afghanistan my commitment to a rapid and thorough investigation. In the meantime, we will continue to offer medical care for those who were injured in this shooting. We will maintain custody of the U.S. service member alleged to have perpetrated this attack. And we will cooperate fully with local Afghan authorities as we ascertain all the facts. This deeply appalling incident in no way represents the values of ISAF and coalition troops or the abiding respect we feel for the Afghan people. Nor does it impugn or diminish the spirit of cooperation and partnership we have worked so hard to foster with the Afghan National Security Forces. The men and women of ISAF join me in my sadness and they join me in extending their condolences. I am absolutely dedicated to making sure that anyone who is found to have committed wrong-doing is held fully accountable."
