I have just managed to drag myself out of the depths of despair after a very long 36hrs of being a complete b***ard to everyone around me. Can't get my head around the run of results we have had. Complete b***oks. After trawling through the weekend reports at work i decided to cast a glance at our remaining fixtures and those of the other teams also neck deep in sh**e at the moment, and i pulled the faintest ray of hope from them. We are not the only team with a difficult run-in. Wigan for example, IMO will not pick up another point away from home with difficult fixtures at Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Fulham and Blackburn. Blackburn have an incredibly difficult home run with Sunderland, Utd, Liverpool and Norwich arriving. Wolves have Utd, Arsenal, City and Everton at home but have a few games that they may take points from away. Bolton look to have the best of the run-in but also have away games at Spuds, Villa, Newcastle, Sunderland, Stoke. Their home games against West brom, Blackburn, and Fulham may get them the points they need. Having looked at all the fixtures this morning, i genuinely feel that although we are in the last chance saloon with buck all ammo left we are not dead ducks yet. 32-33 Pts will be enough this year. The other teams around us will also not pick up too many more points which means it will remain tight at the bottom right to the end. That will give us a chance. I really think Wigan and Wolves are absolutely bucked. IMO Bolton have the easiest run-in which may leave it as a straight shoot out between us and Blackburn. Look at their fixtures and you will see that they too will not pick up a lot of points over the coming weeks. An unlikely win next weekend and this small ray of hope may grow. All the other bottom teams still have to play each other. Really think that MH now has nothing to loose. Unleash the shackles and lets go down fighting. Adel if fit must play, Buz must play instead of Derry, Taiwo as LB and Traore as LW. SWP must be dropped for Mackie and lets tear into Liverpool. It can still be done. Unlikely but possible. And remember we are QPR, we don't do easy. This would be the mother of all escapes.
Stranger things have happened NUTS, I think it is essential we win some of our home games, particularly the next one against Liverpool. We've had five consecutive must-win games and taken one point from them against, arguably, our toughest opponents Everton, so a win is now really needed. I think any team that can actually win two successive games in the next month will virtually have one foot in the PL for next season, let's hope it's us...
I believe that we play better against better teams ... We beat Wolves 3-0 nil away but I was never convinced we played well that game . Newcastle and City were outstanding as have been periods in other games as we gel together Big lesson here : we had a great team last year yet we all wanted more as we were the cocky champions who were by far the best team ... So what did we do as QPR ... Scrap that team as most of here thought our players weren't good enough ... Yet out team was... ( Ask Swansea and Norwich) We now have a team full of premiership stars who aren't yet a team ... However it's coming and we will give our next ten fixtures a good game I feel No point looking to blame serves nothing positive Patience
Oddball I admire your consistency but last year's side would have been slaughtered this season. The damage was simply not having the crucial summer period to bring in players like Swansea and Norwich did. The panic buys have turned out to be terrible.
QPR 0 - Bolton 4. Things badly needed to change. Barton and Bothroyd aside the influx of players very nearly worked. Traore and Young have been excellent. SWP started well but his confidence is now shattered. We have been unlucky in many games and the injuries to Faurlin and latterly Helguson have been crucial.
