what players will stay if we are relegated,do you think zamora, cisse, and co will stay to try to get us back up at the first go,i think if they are under contract they should be made to, after all they all played their part during the season

I think it may be a case of who we are stuck with. Cisse has shown enough class for someone to come in for him should we go down. Nobody will take Barton and he's getting c.£60-£80k per week with us, so I don't suppose he will be in a rush to go, nobody wanted him last time and his been sh*te for us. Same goes for Zamora, Onoa & Wright-Philips. Sadly I think Adel will finally leave.

Excluding Adel, out of all the current squad, Cisse would be one player I would want to keep as he would smash it in the championship - can't see it happening though.

On the bright side, we are not down yet and we are QPR - Anything can happen!

If (Big if still IMO) we did go down i would love to keep most of them. It wont happen like that but i could see us then winning the Championship by a mile with the team we have now.

Cisse would walk the Championship, but sadly I cant see him staying.

Would expect Taarabt, SWP, Barton, Taiwo, Zamora all wanting to leave. Although not all may actually move seeing the contracts they are under!

One postive is that hopefully we will have Faurlin as he has been injured.

I think many more players than expected will stay... They would want to show that they deserve to be in the PL next season...

Well... I hope they will!

Unfortunatley we have a large part of the squad more interested in money than football and putting things right. So many will leave imo.

For some, not a bad thing. Im fed up to the back teeth with SWP and Barton.

Thats a fantastic thing, weve only got those players because we offered a wage packet no one else would. Thats completely the wrong type of player to be bought in.

We need young hungry players, not a bunch over overpaid 30 somethings looking for one last pay day.

We have now made that mistake twice.

First when Briatore came in - Vine, Agyemang etc..

Now - Barton, SWP etc..

We are only just about to get rid of Vine and Agyemang five years on. Now we start that process again.

Hmm, young and hungry, now that sound familiar.

Flyer, I spent the whole of the summer calling for young and hungrey players. Unfortunately The Goons weren't listening.

Me too, I was banging on for Rhodes instead of Zamora, the argument was that Zamora is "proven" but players on massive wages had divided the dressing room. Rhodes would have been a better fit. Even if we went down they could grow as a group and wed have a future, as of now we have a bunch of players weed struggle to give away. They are going to be the new Vine, Cook and Rowlands.

The only signing Ive been really happy with was Traore, pace with good attacking threat but can be a bit suspect defensively, that can be coached to improve him and he will have a decade to improve. SWP is only going to get worse when he loses the only thing he had, pace.

What we need to know is who has got an escape clause in their contract should we be relegated. I would bet that all of the January signings do, though hopefully we have not struck any deals like West Ham had with Ba. He cost them £6million and had a clause allowing him to leave on a free when they went down.

As for Taiwo and Diakite, they are only on loan at the moment with a permanent deal agreed. I’m sure that there will be a clause cancelling the transfer if we go down.

I hope that someone is talking to Clint Hill’s agent at the moment, we should definitely look to have him around for another season.

If we're being honest, we're going to have to go through a transitional phase at the end of the season. If we go down we will need players who will take us up and stay with us if we go up and be good enough. In my opinion this means getting rid of the following players:

Paddy Kenny,
Clint Hill,
Shaun Derry,
Heider Helguson,
Danny Gabbidon,
Rob Hulse,
Radek Cerny.

Aside from these, arguably Tommy Smith, Jay Bothroyd and DJ Campbell could all be surplus to requirements, especially as despite them being good championship players, they haven't played consistently for a year and will not be as good.
This, in a positive case, would mean we could invest in some younger blood who could relish in a promotion chasing side. The likes of Rhys Williams from Middlesbrough and Jordan Rhodes would be fantastic signings.

Even if we stay up, I fully expect all of the names above to leave and be replaced with players of higher quality.

Interesting point re the players that haven’t played very often this season, but I would definitely be looking to retain players like Tommy Smith. I think that we will have many players either choosing to leave or being shown the door, so retaining some solid pros would make sense. On the other hand, stability isn’t exactly a byword at Loftus Road is it?

Rollercoaster I agree regarding stability, and Tommy Smith may be a good asset to keep IF we go down, but sadly I wouldn't see a future for him IF we stay up.
The one thing I would like to see if we did go down was a different approach that the old experienced players that we went up with that (clearly) can't cut it physically for the Prem. I think the way Middlesbrough have approached the championship is a good way; a lot of young players with plenty of scope and will cope in the prem if they went up. I wouldn't be happy if the players I listed above are still at the club next season, either way.

If we could keep Kenny, Young, Ferdinand, Onouha, Traore, Hill, Derry, Buzz, Faurlin, Smith, Mackie, HH, Cisse, DJ then would be pretty happy.

Cisse would be the player I'd most like to keep as think would score for fun in the Championship.

Wouldn't be too sad to see the back of Barton, SWP, Adel, Zamora + a few leftovers from last year.

Should we go down and follow the young and hungry path we would need some experienced old heads in the changing room. Should we stay up I would still like to retain Hill and think that Helguson would be able to do a job coming off the bench.

Another fascinating summer lays in store....

I must admit I am suggesting we rid of HH and Hill under the impression we are keeping Zamora, Ferdinand etc. If the more experienced heads in our team left its a different story. I was merely being optimistic should we go down :)
