I have been reminiscing about my time watching Sunderland at the SOL and was wondering what everybody's answers would be to the following questions.

    1) Most memorable match

    2) Best goal (from a sunderland player)

    3) Best atmosphere

    -------------------------------------------------

For me it would have to be

    1. 2-1 against the skunks

    2. Super Kev against Chelsea

    3. Home to Sheff Utd in the play offs

Memorable game 3-2 vs Burnley, just unreal.

Best goal, Carlos Edwards guided missile from the same game.

Best atmosphere was between the Sheff United game you mention, and the 3-1 vs Spurs when Bent missed 2 pens, it was incredible that day.

Game I remember most is beating Spurs 1 0 our first season back in the prem.

Best goal Ricco v the Craas or Murphy's long range volley.

Best atmosphere? V the Craas (see above)

With MON on all 3. Would possibly inc Ricco's goal as well just because of who it was against.

Memorable game- I might be alone here but I'd say the 1-0 win over Manchester City on New Year's Day. The fact that everyone expected them to batter us, coupled with our makeshift defence, made the spectacular never-say-die attitude of the players even more special. The last minute winner reminded me why I love this club so much: amazing celebrations, people hugging complete strangers and seeing that bloke kiss the terrified-looking Korean lad was just hilarious.

Best goal- Definitely the Edwards goal v Burnley, because of the significance it had and the build-up play was brilliant as well.

Best atmosphere- the 3-1 win over Spurs, I remember at the time being so pleased to see Bent get one over on his old team (how times change...)

    My Roker Park one's......

Memorable Game - Reidy's first, we'd been **** my whole life, still were, and were going down, make no mistake, cue Craig Russell and a wee bit of assistance from the North Sea, amazing.

Goal - A Dickie Ord thunderbolt vs Grimsby, for a 2-2 draw from 0-2 (good god we were ****...)

Atmosphere - 2-1 vs Chelsea, 1992 cup run, Gordon Armstrong's header, boooom!

Roker Park had much better moments than mine, but as I was only 16 when we moved, I missed all the good stuff.

I was at the West Ham away game in the same cup run, one of my earliest away games, and I remember the away end was wild.

Tony Norman made this one fingered trailing hand save to keep it 3-2, that cup run probably made me realise, as a 12-year old who'd seen nothing but ****e, that there was a bit more about us than the likes of Barnsley and Hull, who we generally played every year!

The first competitive game was special and seeing sir Niall score the first competitive goal will live long in the memory.

Best goal was the 30 yard screamer from SKP against chelsea.

The roar of welcome for Mon v Blackburn was awesome. Very special moment.

However, perhaps the best moment is still to come? Parading the FA Cup around before the man utd game?

You got to have belief people. Why not?

I remember playin Norwich in the semi at Hillsborough, and just KNOWING we were gonna win.

One of those crazy days, when you know you just can't lose.

I wasn't at the game, we used to live by the Ivy House, I remember the streets being deserted, about 6 people in ours, and when Byrne scored, you could here the noise from the Ivy.

    Class.

I honestly thought that John Byrne was better than Pele.

    The joys of youth...
