Thought I'd start the next match thread since the last one has been overrun with obsessive, probably mentally ill Hull fans. So... please log in to view this image Sunday, 11th March 12:30 Empty Seats Stadium Middlesbrough North Yorkshire Not lost at Boro since 1992; bring it on. Scrappy 1-0 win to Leeds for me, with the following team: Becchio McCormack - Webber - Snodgrass Clayton - Pugh Robinson - J. Pearce - Lees - Connolly Lonegan I'd rather see Robinson at centre-back than O'Dea, I think, if we don't get Jason Pearce from Pompey before Sunday. Michael Brown to score a screamer from off the bench and injure half of Boro's players in an overexuberant, violent celebration. You heard it here first.
I'm currently imagining Brown's goal celebration as being something akin to this:
It will be exactly like that. As will the walk back to the train station, if last season's accounts are anything to go by!
Hmm, that could be a good team. Still prefer 4-4-2 though so given the same players available I'd just play Rosco upfront with Becchio, move Webber to the left or right with snoddy on the opposite. I'd be tempted to stick with Brown for Pugh though, have never really liked Pugh as a CM
2,500 tickets sold in the Leeds end and more will be sold on the day. I know we're on telly and it's a bizarre kick-off, but for a spicy away game, I think we should be doing better. Hopefully the freer admissions will lead to a sell out. Wanna know some stats about the Boro? You do? Cool! Top scorer: Marvin Emnes (11) Top assistant: Barry Robson (6) League position: 4th Better at home against top half teams (1.5 points per game) than we are away (1 ppg) Form table position: 4th (we're 17th!) Conceded five in their last six and scored 10. Have a history of raping their kids.
That is what I like to read... http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....ed-mowbray-is-left-number-crunching-1-4327968
Conceded 1 goal in three, only two points and none scored since NW arrived, I have a feeling once we get a goal we could go on to stuff someone 4-0 let us hope it is sooner rather than later...
well we didn't throw the towel in after conceding against southampton, in fact it seemed to not affect us in the slightest. I'd imagine scoring a goal will have them go out there with more passion and desire and go on and win emphatically.
I really hope you guys are right. I'm still not sure Warnock is the guy to get us up but whoever is manager I will back 100%. We have improved no end defensively since his arrival (although still need to get rid of O'Dear), we just need to get scoring. Does anyone else want to admit yet that Becchio is ****ing disgraceful infront of goal or at least has been of late?
Im more talking about he shoulda scored against Southampton albeit a little bit unlucky. He shoulda scored a couple times against Hull aswell, I mean he had a free header inside the box. Thats supposed to be what he is good at and he headed straight to Mannone. Add a few other chances he shoulda scored of late and its really starting to annoy me Oh, and Iqbal, have you seen how many goals Keogh has scored recently?
Nobody has scored for three matches, Becchio has looked much better of late so a strange comment. As for Keough as I pointed out before, last ten games for us we never scored a single goal while he was on the pitch.
lol. I was joking about Keogh, I like to put that into a comment aimed at Iqbal sometimes. But in fairness to Becchio, he has looked better of late. My issue is if he is he is playing well but missing very good chances that really he should be scoring. I think we need a striker pushing him for his spot. We don't really have anyone to be competitive with him at the moment
Nothing we can do about it at the moment. Somma injured Paynter and Forssell useless and no transfer window thanks to Bates perfect timing ensuring he doesn't have to open his wallet. It is a BIG IF but IF Bates keeps to his word (which will be a first) and backs Warnock in the transfer window I would assume much of the dead wood will be shifted and a new striker in place.
