You're right- but by god that was painful y'day.

I think a few changes are needed, we've done so well pretty much playing the same side every game, but now they are coming thick and fast we have to expect some of the players will start to fatigue.

I also wonder if 4-3-3 is the way, it looked like that was the formation for the second half and it worked for the first 20 minutes.

I would quite like to see -

    .........................Suli........................

    Solly.......Morrow.........Taylor..........Wiggins

    ......Hollands.......Stephens......Jackson.......

    ....................Kermit..........................

    .......Haynes...............BWP...............

Or even <yikes> dare I say it......yes, yes I dare... so here goes....

Hayes back in for Kermit............ there I've said it... so

    .........................Suli........................

    Solly.......Morrow.........Taylor..........Wiggins

    ......Hollands.......Stephens......Jackson.......

    ....................Hayes..........................

    .......Haynes...............BWP...............

Home games only, away we still seem fine. This is what I would like to see but this could be wrong, so as I said at start.... perhaps "keep calm and carry on" is best <ok>

    Only thing we can do.

If the reaction to this thumping is too extreme and the changes too drastic, it could derail things, although a good shake-up on the bench wouldn't go amiss.

We are still ten points ahead and although the huge trip to Scunny isn't ideal, they're not having a great season and I'd rather we played them next than Yeovil, which is always a difficult game.

Terribly disappointing Tuesday and yesterday, but not disastrous.

One positive to be learned- Stephens is a better player when he's further forward, as he was in the 2nd half. This is where he must stay.

It's just the amount of game tewkes. With the canceled fixtures having been squeezed in, there seems to be some tiring legs. Easter is also usually a heavy fixture schedule isn't it?

    I'd like:

    Suli
    Solly
    Taylor
    Morro
    Wiggins

    Hughes/Pritchard
    JJ
    Stephens

    Kermo/Hayes

    BWP
    Haynes

Hughes protects the back 4, allowing wiggins and solly to go forward so that we don't lose any width. It would also be done in mind for Haynes and BWP to play off the defenders shoulders and latch on to through balls from kermo/Hayes/Stephens.

I am however realistic in the knowledge we will keep 4-4-2, so in that case I'd say:

    Suli
    Solly
    Morro
    Taylor
    Wiggins

    Green
    Russell
    Stephens/Pritchard
    JJ

    Kermo/Haynes
    BWP

I think this Wagstaff thing might need a seperate coherent thread - maybe one with a poll...

Not certain the proof of that pudding was demonstrated yesterday. He may have the ability to be a better player but look at the stats on matches played goals and assists.

I'm fully aware that green hasn't exactly lived up to expectations, but from the 2 seasons of wagstaff I was never impressed with him as a winger. Can't cross, scared to take a man on, and for someone with blistering pace I don't think he uses it enough.

He works hard, and can score goals, but if I'm really pushed I think we might need to see if there is a better option outside if the club. But if I'm pushed between green or waggy- green just shades it.

Statistically wealth probably grew under Thatcher. Facts and Stats are rubbish - especially in this context.

I will agree that there are lies damn lies and statistics but it is how we use them and interpret them which is important. If we don't use them we will be daydreaming along into disaster. The league one table is itself a statistic; the goals scored against time on pitch is a statistic; the hatrick by Forte is a statistic. We can't just ignore them - they do tell us something, what we have to be is better than the others at interpreting them.

Green looks a good player and I don't deny that he is but I reckon the difference that Wagsstaff brings means that even if Green starts Wagstaff has to beon the bench and vice versa.

I honestly think that after Chesterfield and Bournemouth the fans and the players thought that the Championship was done and dusted (I'll hold my hand up there), the trouble is the players seemed to take their foot off the gas especially after the first half yesterday.

Basically Chris Powell must have reminded them in the dressing room that the season was by far from over and that they needed to realise that, hence the second half performance.

It might have been a harsh wake up call for everyone but I think it was a wake up call that was needed

In his post-match comments CP said that he would definitely be using his squad for the last 10 matches, let's see what this means in practice.

Sums it up for me save for the fact that I think there is clear daylight between the two.

Green has got a better first touch, gets more crosses over and gets in more shots on goal. This should make him a better player but he rarely scores or gets any assists, so what does he contribute that makes him so much better than Waggy? If we do go up wide right is for me a position to be strengthened as SuperC says.

Billy, I remember seeing an interview with CP about four or five games ago where he said he would use the squad. Since that statement he has made precisely no unenforced changes whatsoever! Hopefully he will learn the lessons of Saturday and make a few tinkerings.

    Sullivan
    Taylor
    Cort
    Solly
    Wiggins
    Waggy
    Stephens
    Hughes
    Green
    BWP
    Kermit

Morro, Hollands and Jackson look dead on their feet.

I would possibly swap Evina for Green.

I want to see balls pinged in to the box for Kermit and BWP to attack.

Agree re Hollands and Jackson but not Morro. His problem is not tiredness but a total lack of confidence in the goalkeeper. Your last two points are counter-intuitive. Green is the best crosser of a ball in the ball at the club. The problem with Kermit is that he is having to play so deep because our attacking midfield is non-existent. I think I'd try something like Hughes (holding), Stephens (getting forward and distributing), Green (told to stay out wide and cross), Wagstaff (not on the wing but with a free role to link attack and defence) and Kermit & BWP up front and with strict orders to stay there! There is no real left sided Mid fielder there but Jackson isn't one anyway and Wiggins does a lot of wing work. Oh, and dont panic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
