The whole situation is ****ing annoying especially with our on field issues being so easy to put your finger on (even pre January transfer window with a lack of goals). I personally think we've made a bit of a hash of transfers recently although in fairness to whoever makes the transfer decisions guys like Adam, Downing etc looked a lot more useful last year than they have for us this year. Ultimately however I believe this kind of knee jerk is inevitable but wrong. I'm as frustrated as everyone else and maybe in the long run I'll be proved wrong but KK is still the man to take LFC forward IMO. Can anyone deny that he will be hurting today as much as any of us lot? Results aren't going our way right now and it's a "results business" but ask yourselves a couple of simple questions....Are the players lacking in effort? Personally I don't think they are (and I'm not one to hold back when I think players aren't giving 100%)....Are we playing terribly and do we deserve to have lost so many recent games? Again it's only my opinion but I think we've deserved more than we've got in the league recently and maybe just maybe Tuesday will see lady luck swing back our way YNWA
Oh come on mate. A family member? It's that ancient attitutde which has given us 0 titles in 20 years. We have to modernise - i'm not saying thats by sacking all the time, but we have to get the right men in charge and let head overide heart.
The key question is are we lacking in quality? = yes. Why? Are we lacking the ability to score goals? = yes. Why? Are our subs making a difference? = no. Why? Why have we one 1 in the last 8?
1- We got mugged in the transfer window, and need more quality in the summer. 2- See above. Plus we've been extremely unlucky at times (no excuse, but true) 3- Personally I think the subs need to be made earlier in certain games. Especially as we have quality on the bench (in comparison to recent years). 4- Because we can't score for ****, and we have the likes of Adam in control of pulling the strings in midfield. Plus we miss Lucas big time.
Agreed. But we can attribute most of these to 1 or 2 people. Whoever is responsible for Carroll needs putting down. Not just because of Carroll's performances, but because of the way it has in flated every other purchase we have made and will do in the near future. It's just a shocking bit of business. And that what we have to remembe - we are a business, we're spending others people's money.
We deserved to lose yesterday. Which thankfully is extremely rare this season. Last season we deserved to lose twice a month until Kenny turned up. Including injuries and suspensions, we effectively changed over half the first XI and that kind of change takes at least a season to bear fruit. We're headed in the right direction (yesterday was an anomaly, not the norm) and playing good attacking football. The chances for goals have been there all season and these same players have had the skill and confidence to finish for us, their former clubs, and their national sides. As disappointing as certain results have been this must be given more time. If we strengthen in summer and keep playing this style of football we're going to be a very good side again. Change of manager will just be hitting the reset button and gambling away all the good that's happened. Which is a stupid idea. Discussing this after yesterday which was one of only a few matches all season where we were rubbish (performance, not results) isn't a great idea either.
1 + 2: We certainly lack quality in front of goal yes. Why?...we overspent on a targetman and Suarez who with his talent should be our main threat has lost his form completely in front of goal, Stevie G, Adam, Downing and Dirk have lost their shooting boots and Bellers and Maxi don't play enough. 3. See above... 4. See above.. Solutions....Some attacking flair in the summer obviously but until then IMO Maxi deserves a run in the team now (look at the goals he brought at this stage last year), and I really would love to see us start integrating a couple more of the promising younger players into the set up just to throw a bit of caution to the wind.
Perhaps some of us are overeacting. Yes in the summer we could bring better players in and improve. I just have the nagging feeling Kenny is not the man to bring us back to the top. He probably does deserve another year - but is that not just a wasted year if we are not confident he is the main man for the future? Sentiment cannot take precedant. I may eat my words and i'd love too. I just don't think that will be the case.
The league season is over and results have no meaning (other than to us watching). We can't get CL, we're in Europa, and can't get relegated. It's all friendlies and potential for experimentation from here on out. Other than the FA Cup.
No and No I'm not sentimental, just think we've clearly improved our style of play and it always going to be hard to reach top 4 in the first season with so many changes on and off the field.
