Nah they were Czech. Skoda used to make Tanks and machine guns for the cabbage munchers though, I got mine for about £1500 new. Boot in the rear and bonnet in the front, not exactly a fanny magnet but the left hand drive was a point of interest to some. I drove mine from Osnabruck in Germany to Glasgow in one of these 3 times, great on fuel as it only had a 1200 engine. please log in to view this image
My second motor.....for about 3 months, a wreck with sawdust in the gearbox but I was only 19 so I felt like James Bond. please log in to view this image
Ahhhhh ok ... I'm on about the newer Skoda octavia/etc they are volkswagon engines . I didnt realise you were on about 2 or 3 decades ago

The poor old Skoda bit the dust on my last trip to Germany, it was struggling through Belgium and it eventuall conked out in my driveway as I pulled in. Never ever ran again after that. I left it lying for 4 months and when I checked the engine a family of mice had built a cosy little nest using the fur off my car seat covers.
My second car was either one of these, but in worse condition. 68 Firebird in yellow and rust, but mainly rust. please log in to view this image Or one of these, can't remember which way around? 69 gt6 also in yellow. please log in to view this image
