On the rare occasion I make an error at work, I am called to account as I am sure most of you are too. This error, apart from breaking the hearts of tens of thousands of QPR fans, jeopardises the business plans of some very serious businessmen. So,Bob, how about a statement?
Forget goal line technology. Make referee's pay performance based or, switching it around, actually dock pay from them for bad performances. You perhaps could have a panel or group of ex referees who can no longer do the running to go through the matches looking for correct and incorrect decisions. The worse the referee performances, the less pay available for them, only leaving a set, guaranteed pay per match that is lower than they're currently getting!! They'll soon start putting in better performances, believe me.
Norwich fan in peace. Unlucky yesterday, was a terrible decision and as people know the first goal can dictate the way a match goes. However with reference to why he did not apologise, I believe that refs/ refs assistants are now not allowed to give interviews/ statements to the media. I believe this was an FA initiative introduced a few seasons back, presumably because they were getting a lot of flack for it. Seems silly really but you can't blame them for not coming out to apologise as they're not allowed to. Making refs pay performance based is also a stupid suggestion. They really don't get paid that much as it is, certainly not in comparison to the players they are meant to manage on the pitch. If one of your players missed a one on one would you be calling for their pay to be cut because they messed up? If anything players should be paid on a more performance based deal. Video technology and making the refs more professional e.g. training everyday with better coaching would be a better solution
Some sensible remarks Tipsy, it just hurts even more given our predicament and the several other decisions that are also overlooked through the season it really tests your patience beyond their limits. I'm Very frustrated again.
Why can't the 4th official be watching a monitor to see the errors. If he isn't then what the heck does he do apart from hold the signs up for subs and minutes left. You may as well have a lucky ticket holder to do the job instead and save the home team a wage.
Understand, its possibly the most frustrating thing seeing an official give an obviously incorrect decision against you. The 4th official watching a monitor seems the obvious answer. Works well in Rugby and cricket so why not football? FIFAs reasoning used to be that football should be the same from top to bottom, so clearly tv replays would not be possible in sunday league. However this seems ridiculous as most sunday leagues don't even have 2 official linesman etc. Plus its already so different with the huge amounts of money involved. One day maybe they'll see sense, won't hold my breath though
I thought his job was to take abuse off Managers and fans and every now and again do a sneeky grass to the ref saying " that manager said the F word to me can we have him removed please" OR he is a jobsworth! both = Useless
Of course this **** won't apologise. He will go about his daily life without a ****ing care in the world whilst those of us who support QPR face the oblivion of the Championship next year. I wish I could contact this **** and hear some sort of explanation. He should be sacked for professional misconduct, but those even bigger ****S that employ this **** won't have the ****ing balls to do it!!!!! Oh yeah, did I mention that they are all ****S?
Forget it, move on, not going to change it now, and doubtless well see more crap officiating before the end of the season. Will just make staying up all the sweeter.....
