Pompey sign Maguire on loan from derby. Maguire who is a Scottish international joined the Rams from Aberdeen last summer but has failed to secure first team football at Pride Park. Although this season he does tally 2 goals in 8 appearances - including 1 of those against, yup, you guessed it - Pompey.

derby fans speak very highly of him and say the gaffer doesn't like him. sound promising, then again don't they all.

I wonder if he's teamed up with allen before?

Let's hope he gets the winner at Brighton today, and helps to wipe the smug smile from the face of the sanctiomonious Poyet <ok>

Are you referring to "Chopper" Harris, or Gavin "The Hairdresser" Maguire, pm ?

Gav was an animal on the pitch, he must have calmed down a lot now he has turned to providing perms & blow drys for a living.........

I read that article in the news about Poyets comments - talk about stir the s**t - typical newspaper, he was quoted soooooooooooooo out of context that whoever wrote the article should hang his head in shame.

I've just logged in to the B&HA website to hear what he really said. He talked first about how hard it is for the fans, players, staff, his own experience at Leeds etc. nothing but sympathy for Pompey fans, players and staff - and then voiced his opinion, which was no different to our own - someone needs to be responsible etc. the game isn't regulated enough and "if someone wants to put their hand in their pocket to buy Messi then they can, but don't claim it back from the club". There is also an article on their website where he talks about Pompey fans, players and staff.

The snooze did a real disservice to him there.

In which case, 3rd eye, I unreservedly withdraw the 'smug' and 'sanctimonious' comments.

I still hope however that Maguire scores the winning goal (or two) :1980_boogie_down:

Henderson and Mullins not in the squad today. Looks like they're on their way out.

Henderson definitely gone to WHU - confirmed by Birch 5 minutes ago.

Why did we sign him so cheap from QPR (I believe) ?

Did he spit at someone, or be in possession of a knife like Billy Gilbert did ?!

He was a better player than he showed at times, but never seemed fully committed.

So, who on earth is our sub keeper today ? Or are we going with 5 outfield players ?

We wont necessarily miss Mullins too much, but will miss Henderson, to my mind.

I think he was one of those players, that the whole footballing community just didn't get along with, so naturally he ended up at Pompey. He didn't always travel to away games with the other players either. Sometimes he would pass us, in his car, by himself on the way back home.

No surprise, that he went to Millwall after us then.

We've now got 3 loanees and 1 monthly contract (Etuhu). We can take on 2 more loanees for Henderson and Mullins, but any more out is going to be beyond ridiculous.

However we have to take it on the chin. Our financial situation is bordering on criminally insane. As we have had the first 2 lots of parachute payments, totalling £32m and have 2 parachute payments left totalling £16m - plus we haven't even started paying the CVA yet we are in very dire straits.

I am now strongly of the opinion that the fans have to purchase a significant stake in the club - 26% minimum. It will be the only way to keep a new owner on the straight and narrow and ensure the funds remain where they should be, in the club.
