I am a season ticket holder and yes we are top of the league but I am seriously getting pissed off with peoples attitude every week which is putting a dampner on how great we are. We are now top of the league for the first time legitimately, who would have taken that when we were promoted last year?!Lets get behind the team, understand football and support every kick of the last 10 games to push us over the line.
My two qualms about our support are Guly and keeping possesion which our support do not seem to get.
Firstly why does every got so agitated about us keeping possesion? What is wrong with passing the ball back when we are 2-0 up? This is how you are meant to play football, if the other team does not have possesion how will they score?
Secondly, Guly does so much to our team, yes he doesn't chase the ball like a labrador all game but he gets involved and he fits into our style of play by keeping possesion and playing the easy pass. Looking around me I am starting to think our support are racist (look at the way that puncheon and guly are treated), we need to get behind all of our players and support the club as a whole.
Anyway, good win today but again another frrustrating afternoon as a supporter at St Marys.

I have a group of moaners who do nothing but moan and moan, even if we were 5-0 up they would moan

Davis can't kick to save his life
    Richardson can't tackle
    Fonte can't jump
    Hooiveld isn't mobile enough
Fox uses long balls to often
    Hammond passes it backwards
    Schneiderlin can't go forwards
    Lallana is too fancy
    Guly is too lazy
    Lambert is too fat
    Lee is too lightweight

    and this this just today!

I too am a STH and the ONE seat next to me is not. I always get randoms next to me, but last year against Walsall the guy really took the biscuit! All he did was moan how crap we were, how lazy Guly & Lambert were etc etc. I lasted 60 minutes (quite good for me after 2 bottles of wine!), till I pointed out to shut the f**k up, we were promoted and this was a celebration.

He left with 10 minutes to go as he needed to get home..........(yes I said Walsall - the celebration game and the best atmosphere for about 5 years!)

Some people don't deserve a ticket.........

I personally hate watching teams (apart from saints) knock the ball around the back four when they are winning as it can be very boring to watch, but when the team you support does it, it´s very reassuring to see... It shows you are the better side and are in control of the match.

The nature of the English style of play enforced from kids level to the prem is that the ball should be lumped forwards immediately when in possession so you are always on the attack, even if you're comfortably in the lead, and some fans complain about it. Watch Barcelona, they spend 5 minute periods just passing around the midfield, going sideways and backwards, their fans don't complain one bit.

A bloke in the row in front of me moaned all game today. In the first half I could understand it, but when we were moving the ball around nicely towards the end he kept tutting and booing. Cringeworthy.

Plus he moaned about Schneiderlin to me when I said he's having a great season, calling him 'useless'. Clueless mong.

I was going to start a thread about this until I saw this one

Part of me is thinking the race card may be involved for some people. Guly would pass it fine and get an ironic cheer, then lallana miscontrolls it and gets sympathetic applause...

It frustrates me that people can't see what he does positionally when we are in possession.

He was one of our better players today, no idea what half these people are watching (quite sure they're the people that watch football, think they know everything despite never playing and judges everyones performance on the amount of 'goals they score')

I thought the support was quite good today and even though we started poorly and people had a few groans at some sloppy passing there was a confidence around the place. As for you grievance with regards to Guly, you can see how the fans have taken to Lee because you can see he gives all he has got, unfortunately many in British football still likes the blood and thunder non thinking football, all pace and power, which Guly rarely shows and possession football is alien to some of them. Personally I am quite happy for us to keep the ball and play it around but you have to do it quickly and work the opposition and not play it back so that you lose it and have to hoof it frantically away as that gets you into trouble. A lot of teams now try and play possession football, however sometimes they think that playing it all the way back to the keeper before launching it is a good idea...

Agree completely. I was quite angry in the first half, but not at the players - I was angry at fellow supporters! Even Lallana in his post-match interview pointed out the fact that he knew from down on the pitch that the fans were getting on their backs. Disgraceful, and doesn't help the players one single bit.

I'll tell you what else can't help the players, seeing streams and streams of people leaving with 5 - 10 minutes to go! it's happening far too often now and it even gets noticed by the away support! for christ sake if you haven't got a valid reason for leaving other than bloody traffic beating don't leave!

I was fuming. I took my frustration out by yelling encouragement in the lulls in play, but most people just moaned at every loose pass.

No team can play at 100% every game. We need to ride out the tough times and keep supporting, not whinge. Really gets on my tits

I was in Block 43 for the first time. There was some fat pr!ck slagging him off all game, blaming him all the time.

Everyone around us was rolling their eyes and telling him to shut up, so eventually everyone was copying him by squealing like a girl and blaming Guly for things such as Jos slicing the ball just to get at him. He stood there looking miserable as people began to sing "If you all like Guly, clap your hands!" and other such songs.

We do have some mongs as fans, this man being a prime example.

He wears red and white, he's one of us. Frustrating yes, but he is one of ours.

Racism? odd, considering Tadanari Lee's had nothing but encouragement, and that we've had many black players over the years who haven't been chastised by the supporters.

The fact is that Guly is one of the most frustrating players to watch, and the backward passing, lack of any urgency to win the ball off an opponent and not getting forward or making that extra effort to come back from an offside position starts to grate on peoples nerves, including mine.

Do I shout abuse at him? no, but I have hit many points this season where I've wanted to! he continually loses the ball in the final third with his slow relaxed ''walking play''.

Fact is that you know when Tadanari plays, he gives 100%, when you see Puncheon or Chappers play they constantly go in for tackles and look like they really care out on the pitch... can you say that Guly has given 100% in matches?
