Valencia are a better team than Bilbao and they finished bottom of their Champions League Group and got thumped by Chelsea for ****s sake.
please log in to view this image 99/100 it would never be given. Obviously the impending ruination of his career by Fergie was too much
We deserve to be more than one goal behind but given their offside goal and the incorrect award of the free kick leading to the 3rd goal, I think awarding a penalty for this handball is the least bad decision made tonight.
Yup, if the goalies' hand is outside the area when he touches the ball it is a free kick, so clearly it is the position of the hand that counts for handball.
No, lie to yourself all you want but you know yourself if it was any other team it would be no penalty and you would be seething if Bilbao had been awarded it. But we all know how insular Man U fans are in believing they have a divine right to all sorts of refereeing help
The ball was inside the box and hit a raised arm. Penalty. It was close i admit, but where the players feet are makes no difference. Regardless you seem pretty unlikely to hold an opinion on anything that isn't against united so i see no point in arguing the point any further than that.
Not here to wum but I was talking to a Man Utd fan in work and I said it would be a difficult game, the manager (Bielsa) is brilliant. He's created a great work ethic in every team he's managed. I didn't see the game tonight and was gutted to miss it as I love watching this guys teams Chile were great to watch in the World cup. El Loco is one to watch. The question is will a big club have the bollox to let him take control? With a his 3-1-3-3 formation I doubt it.
I really cannot get excited about the Europa. As I said a few times here we ha ve been dumped out f the champions league. I do not see it as fair to be parachuted into another secondary competition. I am sure Fergie would have been upset by the sloppiness of the players tonight but I don't think that winning the Europa is top of his agenda. I think more worrying is the mistake strewn performance. It seems that United was shocked by a team coming to OT to play such attacking football. I am not bothered about tonight If we play well in the prem this weekend. m I have already said we should give up on Europe this season. It has been very weird and we just do not knw what to expect. Knowing United I would nt be surprised if we somehow went through to the next round with some unexpected victory. We could play all out attack with nothing to lose, a bit like Arsenal this week.
It's not as simple as that though, is it? Real Madrid are 10 points above Barca, but who is the better of the two? Different teams are better suited to different opposition. Perhaps Valencia are simply set up better to face Bilbao than you are, while you're set up better to face Valencia than Bilbao.
Sorry to burst your bubble but if the goalkeepers feet are inside the 18 yard box when contact is made, whether the ball is inside or out of the box, it is a fair catch - Check your statements for truth before you make yourself look daft eh lad!
Sorry, can you explain yourself? Are you saying that if a keeper is inside his goal area but clearly uses his hands to touch the ball while it is outside his penalty area, it is ok?
If the goalkeepers two feet are on the ground inside the 18 yard box when he makes contact whether the ball is inside or out, it is a fair catch FFS - Do you guys actually watch the game!!!
Incorrect, it is the position of the ball not the player's feet that matters. Do you also think that if a keeper catches or beats away a ball that has crossed the goal line while his feet are on the other side of the goal line that it's not a goal? You know like Roy Carroll against Spurs a few years ago. Seriously...
